Nomar hasnt lived up to his billing for us. Time to cut bait and move forward with either Furcal or Cedeno for 2006.

They just said Holla and Lawton might possible be dealt on the Score and said that if Nomar goes on the DL(whats new) Cedeno will be brought back up. YAY!!! We get to see Neifi play ss till the end of the year!!

Why do I foresee Neifi Perez as our starting SS next year and Alex S Gonzalez (our SS before Nomar last year) as his backup?? I honestly expect crap like that now from the Cubs... especially in these Losing Days. The situation is that bad. We were so close to the playoffs last year but we have regressed BADLY. Furcal and Cedeno should be our only options for SS next year. That is my opinion. About a week ago I would have liked ot have Nomar but now he has a back injury well when does it stop? Sorry, it's just not worth it. We need to get back into the playoffs and if we can't do it next year I want Hendry fired as well. No more of this cheap deals players never play top dollar to a free agent bs. I want a WS!!

The cookie cutter era was in the 70's. Riverfront, Veteran's Stadium, Busch, etc. are a thing of the past. The new era of ballparks blow those away, and are anything but cookie cutter. You can have your PetCo, GABP, and Busch II, give me Wrigley. No better place to see a ball game. Agreed. Fenway and Wrigley are the only two field left and there is a reason why people visit them just to watcha game there. Some things aren't meant to be modified or blown up. Wrigley will eventually have to be rebuilt. It will never leave Wrigleyville, but I imagine a 4-5 year project of rebuilding it a section at a time. It should always have the same look, but it will get a facelift at some point. Ps. Love the Thanos avatar! Thanks :)

Why do you think Perez will be the starting shortstop next year? Yeah, I doubt Neifi will be the starter for next year, but I agree it would be a farce if he is.

Here are a couple of things I would like to see: 1. Dusty Baker fired. This one is essential. 2. Forget about Nomar. Sign Furcal as our SS. If that can't be done bring in Cedeno. 3. No thank you to Burnitz, and Lawton. Time for a new OF. 4. We need a new bench. Get rid of Holla, and Macias. We can keep Neifi but only if it is understood he will not be the starter. 5. We either sign Giles or trade for a legitimate power OF. 6. Bring in Murton to play the other corner OF spot. 7. Leave Patterson if we cant get a legitimate CF and always place him in the 8th spot. 8. Resign Dempster to be our closer for next year, if we cant we go hard for Wagner. We probably need to sign or trade for another veteran arm. 9. Walker or Hairston at 2B doesn't matter to me, but one has to stay. We need to have a consistent lineup out there whuch means one of them has to go. 10. Prior, Z, Wood, Maddux, Williams. I'm ok with that. Burnett would be nice but highly doubtful. I dont want Millwood here, sure he's having a good year but he was terrible for the Phillies the year prior. It's a situation similar to Pavano and Wright where it's aocntract year, you sign them and bam ur stuck with a mid 4era pitcher no thank we already have that in Maddux. 11. Fire Dusty Baker. Yes, this has to be the most important thing done this off-season. The entire coaching staff gone would be nice.

I don't think people mind having Perez here. They do mind it when he has so many Abs as he does and will play a lot of games no matter what as long as Dusty is manager.

Nomar isn't as injury riddled as people think. He's had I think only a year and a half of his career where he has been injured. Before last year, he played pretty much every game (except in 2001). I wouldn't dream of giving him another 8 million, but if we can get him cheap, I'd say keep him around. He's a lifetime .320 hitter. Furcal might even cost more than him next year. I don't care if he is a lifetime .400 hitter, he hasn't done squat for us. He has been injured his entire time with the Cubs. Enough is enough with these injury prone players.

Lawton was a desparation trade and he hasnt brought squat to the table. A waste of a prospect.

He doesnt appreciate a historic field like Wrigley, well that's his problem. Too bad they will not get their wish to blow up Wrigley. Ever.

I would like to see both Neifi and Nomar gone. We sign Nomar to another 8mil and then bam he'll have another injury. He hasnt done squat for us down the stretch. He cant even play effectively for an entire season. We cut our losses let him sign to another team so we can get a 1st rounder and we sign furcal or bring Cedeno up. Done.
