  1. Wait, that's SERIOUSLY the injury? Oh you've gotta be kidding. I think they are just making them up at this point. nba injuries :)
  2. Peavy also was really bad until just recently.
  3. Wow, and now Z has been pulled and it's possible because of injury.
  4. If we pay Juan Pierre 12 million next year, I, I...I dont know what I'll do. But it'd be especially cool if we sign Juan Pierre for 12 million, then lose Aram, to be replaced with Rich Aurillia. Juan Izturis Lee Aurillia Jones Barrett Murton Cedeno 300 runs scored in '07. Catch the excitement. If we lose ARam we are done for, no matter what. So, we might as well overpay for ARam right? At least we'll be getting good production from a player in his prime? Man, I love the offseason, but next year looks so damn bleak. Hendry better have some trades in between the fat. Hendry has def laid an egg on this one, but we all knew this was expected with that fool. I think it's to the point where we might not have no choice but to slightly overpay. WHo knows what ARam and his agent are thinking. One way or another I don't see how we would make the playoffs next year. I disagree, we certainly shouldn't be favorites, but I think we could put together a contending ballclub. As I've mentioned earlier in this thread, add Andruw and Durham, play Murton in LF, and get a platoon guy in RF for Jacque, and our offense is much improved. Durham Murton Lee Andruw Aramis Jones Barrett Izturis Add Fredi Gonzalez or Joe Girardi at manager, and maybe a semi cheap veteran starter and we're a pretty solid team. Not favorites for the playoffs and certainly not where we should be, but we can build a contender by next season. I like that lineup but I don't have faith in Hendry he could pull off a trade for Andruw. If Andruw's available, we've got one of the better chances if Hendry tries. He's got a good relationship with Schuerholz and is trying to model us after the Braves. Also, if we hire Fredi Gonzalez, Andruw might want to play for him if he's traded. Let's just say hypothetically speaking we can get those players, I think our offense would be good but we still have to worry about our SP. If Rich Hill can stay this good and of course we have Z then meants we have 2 pitchers at best we can count on, and that is if Hill can stay this good.

  8. I believe the Red SOx' problems have been their starting pitching.
  9. We would be stupid to sign Pierre to a multi-year deal. Arbitration is the way to go, even if he will make 12mil per for that one year, that would be ok and if not, hey we get draft picks.
  10. who cares..
  11. I still can't wrap my head around this. It's basically saying "don't have the wrong opinion, because people are going to make you pay." it does seem as though you're having trouble wrapping your head around this because that's not what i'm saying at all. Or else? you'll get called out for it later, which is something that's apparently bothering you quite a bit. Interesting how you are calling people out but starting from a couple of years ago I remember quite a few times you being wrong on a couple of things, did somebody call you out then?
  12. Are you kidding? The Packers could be the worst team in the NFL. We may not be good, but worst team in the NFL? If you think this will be a blowout, you're clearly mistaken. The Bears didn't really blow any team out last year and had several close games, including both games against Green Bay. So what makes you think that this game will be a blowout? I'm confident the Pack can keep it close and I think they may be able to pull off the upset if Favre doesn't turn the ball over more than twice. GO PACK GO! What makes me think this game will be a blow out? The Packers are TERRIBLE. I know you're a Packers fan but let's face it, there is no upside to this season. Ahman Green is done, Favre is done, Donald Driver is the only receiver of note and he's no game breaker, the head coach the Pack hired coached the worst offense in the history of football last year, the O-line is studded with rookies, Ahmad Carroll is a bust, the D-line is pedestrian, and the Pack have looked awful in the preseason. Barring some sort of miracle, there is no way the Pack are covering in this game. The tables have turned in this rivalry. The O-line is defintely one of our worse points on the team..our defense isn't as bad as people think though. Our LB corps for the future seems pretty good with Barnett-Hawk-Hodge and I think we'll be alright there. Our D-line could use some work, but Kampman made huge strides last year. KGB gets manhandled by the bigger tackles and sucks at defending the run, and our DT's aren't nothing to brag about. Our secondary is not that bad either. Woodson has sucked a lot in the preseason but i dont think he'll be that bad in the regular season. Marquand Manuel is an improvement over Mark Roman. On defense, I actually feel decent about our chances. Offense is a whole 'nother story and thats why we are the underdog in this one. I'm dedicated though and I believe the Packers are close to a .500 team, so maybe we can pull off the upset. Carroll and Horton will get exploited anytime they see the field. One less concern for us as Horton was finally cut. I remember the game against the Colts two years ago where Horton stepped on the field as one of our CB's (can't remember who right now) got hurt and missed the rest of the game. Horton was burned on every play and he looked like a high schooler defending pros out there. Other "big-name" cuts by the Packers: Najeh Davenport and Rod Gardner. Looks like we're set with Green as the starter, Gado the backup, and Noah Herron as the 3rd string back :? The Gardner cut is interesting as the Pack only have 4 wideouts now. When asked about getting Rogers, Ted Thompson said he wouldn't tell the media if he was looking into it, but he said that they would "probably" sign another WR soon. Definitely wouldn't be surprised to see Rogers wind up in Green Bay now. How has Ahman Green looked so far?
  13. I don't want him. I like what we have at WR right now with Moose, Berrian, Bradley, Davis, Gage. If they want to go after Deion Branch, that's a different story. I wanted Lelie and I think we could've had him. I want this team to go after good WRs, not other people's trash. The pass game is the glaring weakness of this team, unless they give Benson more than 10 carries/game, in which case the whole offense will be terrible. Rogers isn't the answer, we need a serious #1 receiver (Moose is a good #2) and Rex to step up right away, or Greise to step in and be average at the least. Good luck getting a #1 this time of year. If you have a shot to upgrade a position, why not take it? A healthy Charles Rogers is much better than most of the Bears options at WR. I'm dissapointed in Angelo that we did not make a run at any of the WRs whom were available. Terrible, and pompous from Angelo yet again.
  14. WHo knows, he hasn't started in 3 days. It only took Detroit a couple of weeks to know that Neifi should not start and the Cubs still put this guy out there day after day. Bad GM move by Detroit to pick this guy up.
  15. I don't want him. I like what we have at WR right now with Moose, Berrian, Bradley, Davis, Gage. If they want to go after Deion Branch, that's a different story. I wanted Lelie and I think we could've had him. I want this team to go after good WRs, not other people's trash. Eh.. I'd pick up Rogers and cut Gage. Can there really be much of a drop off? I would do that too.
  16. That would be terrible.
  17. I'll give props to Baker on this one.
  18. Considering the fact the team is nowhere near a playoff spot and they have virtually zero chance of making the playoffs, what could Hendry possibly have to do that would be more important than making moves at a crucial and well known deadline that might help the team be better next year? If Hendry didn't work his schedule to free up time to work deals at the deadline, it's just further proof that he is not cut out for the job. Not that I need any further proof anyway. I'm already convinced he's clueless. He's saying that Hendry might have been working on other trades, but just ones that didn't go through and so weren't heard about. For all we know, the Twins were interested in other players, and only became interested in Nevin at the last minute-it's not like they called the Cubs, and the Cubs office said that Hendry was out playing golf or something. Many deals get started right before the deadline-that doesn't mean GM's don't work before that. It's just funny to me-Hendry makes a smart move, and yet he gets villified for the timing of it? I consider it a no-brainer move.

Week 2: 38-6 over Det Week 6: 28-3 over Minn GB Games: Dec 4th 19-7 Dec 25th 24-17
  20. I'll definitely agree with that sentiment. I'm with you guys. I hope he can keep it up. I truly felt that Hill has no future, so I'm hoping he proves me wrong.
