  1. the cubs won and i was there. losing streak over :)
  2. Santo sounds like somebody just ran over his dog.
  3. I have zero chance against Fred. I think I'd vote against myself.
  4. Lou sounds incredibly flustered. Cannot get a complete thought out to save his life.
  5. I'd like to say thank you Jim Hendry for not signing Zambrano to a long term deal. I'd also like to say damn you Jim Hendry for not trading Zambrano before the start of the season.
  6. I wonder if the Cubs can tank the rest of the season to get Pedro Alvarez. They might not even have to try very hard.
  7. You'd think for a league with 1,000 rules and an oddball scoring system, getting a pitcher added to your starting staff wouldn't be like pulling teeth. I don't understand it. This league with all of its' little nuances require you to methodically analyze so many miniscule (and quite frankly, trivial) aspects of your team and then something like this takes over a week to get resolved.
  8. That lineup would be over the luxury tax also. No chance does Jerry do it. But its nice to dream. Its good to have desirable assets that make this hot stove talk at least have some potential to happen.
  9. Damn you tony. That looks sick.
  10. then hire him and give him a payroll of 60 million How would they do this? Lot of guys committed for a lot of money who aren't all that desirable on the market...
  11. Gordon, Ben W, and Tyrus? Maybe we can get a defensive minded big man back?
  12. Why cant Lewis play center? He would be the tallest player on the court, and I really dont expect Noc to be back, but I might be wrong. Ill be honest I havent seen a lot of Lewis, but his numbers are pretty damn good. He's 215 pounds according to espn.com. That is a skeleton at 6' 10". He's got a reputation as a no defense-soft player that I've seen when the Bulls play the Sonics. He also shot 38.5% of his shots from behind the arc last year. He's Peja Stojakovic.
  13. So what do you with Deng? Nocioni? Lewis plays the same position that this team has the most depth at.
  14. The Bulls can only offer him their MLE unless it's a sign-and-trade. The Bulls are over the salary cap but under the luxury tax. 1908, do you think there is any chance the Bulls go after Lewis? Is it feasible? Why do we need a small forward who isn't a post player who doesn't play defense and will cost a ton of money? I'm missing something here.
  15. This doesn't look very promising. Anybody see this movie before?
  16. There's still another inning to blow it.
  17. This is assuming that the two players you get back for Oden are as good as he is. They won't be. If you're talking about them getting Yi or somebody else in this draft, they are an absolutely unknown quantity. Sure, he could be a very good player, but his game has a lot of flaws that people have no idea how they'll translate into the NBA. I'm a big Yi fan, but I'm not naive enough to think he has potential to be a bust. Oden was the second best player in college basketball with using one hand. His off hand. Quality over quantity. I bet the Spurs are sure glad they didn't consolidate Tim Duncan into two players, one who was very good at the time, and an international man of mystery.
  18. If the Blazers or Sonics deal the top two picks, they should be removed from the lottery for the rest of time. And for whoever said that Oden was slow missed the new report on espn.com about how he's murdering people with his athleticism they didn't think he had. He was the second best player in the country last year WITH HIS OFF HAND. What is so incomprehensible about this? Maybe the Spurs should have dealt Tim Duncan 10 years ago; I bet they could have gotten Jerry Stackhouse or Damon Stoudamire and a first for him Oden could be as dominant as Tim Duncan. And that ceiling isn't all that out of the question.
  19. Just wait until Lou implements the Cubbie Swagger he was talking about!!! I bet he's coming up with a fishing analogy as we speak.
  20. Mike Quade with the bow. OH MY GOD NOT JOCK. this will not end well.
  21. derosa will triple, hoffman will uncork a wild pitch, but izturis won't get out of the way and will block derosa from scoring How will Izzy do that from the left handed batters box?? Pretty athletic maneuver...
