    Apparently, Soriano passed his physical, he likes Chicago, negotiations went quickly, he hasn't spoken to Aramis yet who is flying up tomorrow for his press conference, and - oh yeah - sources tell Paul Sullivan that the Cubs may put Soriano in right and swap Jock to center. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-061120cubssoriano,1,288880.story?coll=cs-home-headlines The Cubs are in talks with Cliff Floyd, the nature of which Sullivan describes as 'heated'. Presumably, he'll platoon with Murton. Not sure if I am crazy about that idea.

Are the Cubs going to get in on this action? Article says that they, along with the Mariners Indians, Braves, Diamondbacks, Yankees, Mets, Padres, Giants, Angels and Dodgers, have shown interest.

    Rosenthal only said that the 8/135 figure was what Soriano was seeking, not necessarily what he is going to get. I refuse to believe that he'll get 8 years, which doesn't mean Hendry won't pay through the nose. I would have felt comfortable giving this type of contract to Vlad Guerrero a couple of years ago, but Soriano at age 30?...no way.

    The grandstand looks exactly the same, right down to the ramps to the upper deck. Got to love the crowd too, everybody in hats and overcoats. Great stuff.
