  1. Columbia, MO > Columbia, SC Mizzou will win.
  2. Nah, I don't want to be in Louisiana for New Year's. You must be mistaken... not sure if you noticed or not, but that's not an option. Please choose again. By the way, what the hell is a gamecock?!

    Nascar

I don't consider it an athletic event when I drive to the grocery store... why should Nascar be considered a sport?
  4. All the reviews I've read of that make it sound like a pretty good read, I think I might pick it up. What's your opinion of it?
  5. Or perhaps the O's front office told him that they WILL trade him under the condition that Miggy comes out and denies that he demanded a trade. By doing so, it gives the O's a lot more leverage in trade talks. Reeeeeeeach. Maybe, but it's not unthinkable. The O's saying "fine we'll give you what you want but you have to help us out in the process" is something that could happen.

  7. Everyone keeps saying the Rockies, but I don't see the match... Colorado's three everyday outfielders (Hawpe, Holliday, and Sullivan) are all better options than Sammy. And will Sammy really accept a bench role for a team that probably wont contend? I doubt it.
  8. About an hour ago, I was talking to a friend of mine who is a die hard Cards fan. He said, and I quote, "Matty Mo's biggest problem is he smokes too much weed". I thought for a moment that you were going to say the same thing. I've heard from my buddies in St. Louis too... that and he enjoys other, more powdery type drugs. That's quite an allegation. I thought so too, but they're Cards fans and I don't see why they'd make something like that up.

  10. According to ESPN.com, Boston is interested in bringing him back. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2255775
  11. I was just about to post the same thing. I have 20/20 vision, but reading that was tough on the eyes.
  12. Let the propaganda machine begin. There's no reason to call it propaganda. We're not talking about a guy who has a checkered past or someone that the fans need to be convinced about because he's replacing beloved Cubs. He's already a member of the team so it's nice to know he works hard. :? My old HS basketball coach always praised my work ethic and said I displayed the most hustle of anyone on the team. I'm pretty sure it was his nice way of saying that I sucked. 'Cause I did. It's one thing to not like a player (Pierre), it's another thing to take positives about the player and try and spin them to make the player look even worse.
  13. Nomar's played 142 games the last 2 years. Bradley has played 216. Nomar is a sidearming SS, and Bradley is a well above average defensive CF. I think Bradley would make a much easier transition there than Nomar. until he fires a ball at a bleacher bum who crosses him the wrong way
  14. And in all nine threads you've complained about there being too many threads. Why not just let the mods decide how to do it?
  15. Wow, those are pretty strong words coming from a GM.
  16. Neither would I. Aramis is better than Miggy. Is he better when you factor durability into the equation? Well, he's still the better player whether he plays 140 games or 160 games. I wouldn't call Aramis injury prone though. As USS pointed out, he really hasn't been.
  17. Neither would I. Aramis is better than Miggy.
  18. I'd prefer Abreu, all things equal. All things aren't equal though, and it will likely cost a lot more to acquire Abreu than Tejada, so I say go after Tejada. They're both studs and you can't go wrong either way... hmm, how about we get both? :D
  19. I don't think we'd have to give up Prior or Zambrano. It's not as if there are several teams out there that we'd have to compete with to acquire Tejada. After a quick glance, the only teams that I see that NEED a shortstop and have the money to take on Tejada's contract are the Cubs and Red Sox. I don't think the Red Sox have anyone on Z or Prior's level (young, dominant, cheap) so it's not like they could offer a better proposal of major league ready talent and Hendry would be forced to include one of those two. I don't know, maybe I'm missing something here, but I don't see why we'd have to give up either of our aces. Just thinking out loud. I would propose Hill, Cedeno, Novoa and Ohman and see what they think of that.
  20. So that's two players now that Tejada has had so many personal problems with, that they affected (supposedly) his on the field ability. Clubhouse problem? the other was Sosa? Yeah. There very well might be others, both reported and unreported, but this it two now in the recent past... I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'm not in love with Tejada, but he is a clubhouse leader. Those guys tend to be involved in any conflicts. Sosa was a problem child, so I find it hard to blame Miggy based on that reported conflict (details are sketchy). What on earth happened with Hernandez? One thing is for sure, this team lacks a leader. I'm not saying that it's Miggy's fault. His numbers at the end of the year took a hit and everyone said it was due to his riff with Sosa. Now, he's demanding a trade because of the O's signing a player that he doesn't like. I'm just worried that he might do the same in Chicago. What if he and Prior don't get along? Will he demand that the team trade one or the other?
  21. 8 million for average production? No thanks. We can do better than that.

  24. Freel might be my favorite non Cub in baseball... I'd LOVE it if Hendry could acquire him.
