  1. Why bother? A bottle of Liquid Drano is a lot cheaper. It's an OLD ENGLISH night if you ask me. EDWARD 40HANDS! I'm on my third bottle of Dos Equis. I'm not gonna quit until I've forgotten about this signing. :D Some Bailey's mixed with a little bit of vanilla ice cream is calming my nerves.
  2. Me too... I hope this isn't too huge. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b6/mu_focker/37dd069f.jpg
  3. As if the night couldn't get any worse, I now have some stupid Beyonce song stuck in my head. I bet Hendry's responsible for that too.
  4. Start a campaign similar to the one in Detroit about Millen. :) Personally, I want to organize a day where we get as many people as possible to not buy tickets to one game as a protest...anyone interested in joining me? I can print out flyers at Kinkos for free I got shotgun in CPatterson20's ride.
  5. The Astros are looking at Abreu as we sign Jacque Jones. That right there tells you all you need to know about Hendry.
  6. I don't think it is. Now Hendry has several options: 1. He can trade Pie as part of a deal for Tejada and have all three OF positions set. 2. He can platoon Jones and Murton if Pie is playing for the Cubs in 2007. 3. He can platoon Jones and Hairston or another rightie this year. Why is a team with a 100M dollar payroll using a platoon system? That's absurd.
  7. I guess I can thank Hendry for waiting til later in the day. Now he's just ruined my night and not my entire day. Unbe-freaking-lievable.
  8. It's like he panicked and decided instead of signing one of the Bad 3 to a one year plus an option deal, to go long term with a player that you can make a case for Corey being as patient as. What an idiotic deal. Idiotic. I'm still waiting for someone to come and justify this move somehow. You'll be waiting for awhile.
  9. I'm going to go work out. I bought some Bailey's yesterday... I think I might wind up downing the whole thing tonight.
  10. That's the final straw. Hendry must go. Words cannot express how pissed off I am right now.
  11. No he's not. Not by me at least. If he signs Jock Jones, then he should get ripped apart... by everyone. Jock Jones sucks.
  12. If Hendry signs Jones, I'm convinced that when looking at options, he looks at the AVG/HR/RBI line rather than the AVG/OBP/SLG line. I don't know if I can remain mentally stable if our 3-4-5 next year is Lee-Jones-Ramirez.
  13. They become free agents. If we do tender them, they are guaranteed contracts. If the team can't work out a deal by a certain date, an arbitrator decides between 2 figures(one submitted by the team, one by the player) for a one year deal. Oh okay. Well that makes sense. I thought for some reason that the two sides had to agree to a contract by tomorrow... I didn't know that they had time after tomorrow to negotiate one. Thanks!
  14. I get easily confused with all this arbitration and non-tendering stuff. Can someone give me the basic rundown on what's going to happen with Hairston and Patterson? If we don't "tender" them a contract by tomorrow, then... what?
  15. Great? He pitched a total 28 innings in the Cubs system, posting a 3.86 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. We all have our own definition of great, but I'm sure most would agree that that isn't "great." 28 innings doesn't sound right to me. Are you sure? Not entirely. That's just what baseball cube shows, I don't know of any other sites that list minor league stats.
  16. Great? He pitched a total 28 innings in the Cubs system, posting a 3.86 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. We all have our own definition of great, but I'm sure most would agree that that isn't "great."
  17. Not to mention the fact that he was willing to come back for less than the 9 million that the club option would have paid him.
  18. I just picked this book up this afternoon and I was wondering if anyone here has read it. If so, what are your thoughts on it?
  19. What?! Where'd that come from?
  20. We should've never let him go. I'd welcome him back, though it's not likely to happen.
  21. Can coaches be kicked out of games in the NFL?
  22. I haven't seen the Bears much this year, but I gotta say that their D is just sick.
  23. A pitcher who's last decent season was in 2003 - and that was in AA - plus a guy who's NEVER had success at the major league level for Huff? Sign me up all over that one. Last year was the first in awhile that Huff's OPS wasn't above 850... I'm pretty sure that it'll surpass that next year if he's hitting in between Lee and Ramirez. Plus, he's only due 6.75 million next year. In this market, that's a bargain.
  24. I'll take the 2005 Millwood in the Cubs rotation. The only thing is, can we expect that? Probably... as long as we only give him a one year contract.
