  1. Wait... are you saying it's not his fault that he gets injured all the time? how would it be his fault? if his mechanics are causing the injuries, it is the job of the coaching and training staff to fix it. that's not the responsibility of a 25 year old who has never coached nor gone to college. if rothschild came out and said 'we've been telling him to change his motion for three years, and he refuses to make adjustments' then that would be wood's fault. but that apparently isn't the case. why would kerry be asked to do the job of the pitching coach and the trainer? Do you really think that no coaches, trainers, or doctors have talked to Kerry and gave recommendations as to how to not get hurt every two weeks? I think it's pretty safe to assume that Kerry has been given plenty of advice over the past few years. It's his own fault that he hasn't followed it. I'm sure we'd have heard of it by now if Kerry had been given advice by the coaching staff and didn't follow it. And given how he seemed to make those mechanical adjustments last summer that the whole coaching staff was trumping up (and still needed to have surgery), I really don't think Kerry not listening is an issue. I'm not sure I follow you here. You're saying that Kerry has been given advice, and has followed it? So then who is at fault for his constant injuries?
  2. I want to join a fantasy league. Anyone have any openings in their league? Let me know if you do. Thanks.
  3. Hmm. If you just go to the main MLB page on ESPN.com, there's a simple yes or no poll at the bottom right. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/
  4. 59% of the people that voted says he's NOT a hall of famer? Jesus Christ, that's absurd.

  6. That's awesome.

  8. Nice. I've been waiting for them to release the TV info. Thanks for the post Jon.
  9. Maddux looks like he lost some of that gut!
  10. A Cheap Shot and Sour Grapes... that's freaking awesome!
  11. Looks like Hairston is out to impress some people. Good for him.
  12. I think we should give Cedeno a chance to play everyday. If he's not hitting, then take a look at Tejada in July.
  13. Glendon was pretty fat last year. He looks the same to me.
  14. Kleiza was bad on defense and had a piss poor attitude and he was a first round pick. Someone will take Gardner.
  15. That would be a terrible decision on his part. I don't know about that. Mizzou basketball will likely blow next year. He's having his best season and he's being talked about on a national level. I think it'd be wise for him to leave after this season. Bad teams can still have NBA caliber players. Gardner was mentioned for his spurt through the kU game, but since then he's really fallen off. There's a much better chance of him getting drafted after his senior season than this one. Well, he's still one of the top scorers in the Big 12, if not THE top scorer. I don't know where he ranks now. Someone will draft him, that's for sure. Edit: And he's had a couple bad games lately, but he's still put up 20+ in 3 of his last 7.

  17. I don't know how the eligibility thing works, but he'll be a senior next year so I'd imagine he'd have to sit out a year if he wanted to transfer. I expect him to enter the NBA draft.
  18. There is some major controversy going on in Columbia right now with regards to the Quin situation. Several players are claiming that Quin didn't just resign, but was forced out. The owner of Harpo's (a local bar that has been a student favorite for decades) has kicked radio talk shows "Tiger Talk" and "The Mike Alden Show" out of his bar in light of the recent events. This is gonna get ugly and there's probably zero chance that Thomas Gardner comes back next year. Read more at the link below if you're interested. http://www.themaneater.com/article.php?id=23281
  19. A couple years ago it was Pudge, last year it was Beltran, this year it was Dunn... who will it be next year?
  20. Maybe he can't still play at the ML level?
  21. I don't know if I agree with the McGwire references. I know exactly what you guys are saying, but it's not like Sammy and Mark's numbers are real close. Well, their HR and RBI totals aren't far apart, but Sammy has about 250 more runs scored, 700 more hits, 100 more doubles, and 200 more stolen bases. And correct me if I'm wrong, but voters tend to look at stats like these rather than stats like OBP and OPS, don't they? Their situations are similar, but I don't think that McGwire not getting in will automatically mean that Sosa wont get in either.
  22. What did Korheiser and Wilbon think? I'd be curious to know. Personally, I think Sosa's career may look much different in 5 years, as the corked bat fades but revelations about possible steroid use come forth. Only then will a good judgement be possible. It was Around the Horn actually, and I didn't catch the whole thing, but Woody Page did say that he isn't going to vote for him.
  23. To me, it's a no brainer. I think he should get in and he should get in on the first ballot. The guys on Around the Horn were debating it today. What do you think? Will he make it? And if so, will it make it in his first year of eligibility?
