  1. Ha, two straight ground outs to the pitcher? Awesome. And WTF, why is Craig Monroe starting two games in a row?
  2. I'm not going to say who this comment is from, but...
  3. I heard that Prior was with the team last night, is that true? If so, does anyone know why?
  4. .306/.404/.418/.822 after last night's game. What a great pickup by Hendry. I'm not going to get all "I told you so" or anything, but I liked this move from the beginning and defended it pretty hard. I just browsed the Kendall trade thread. That's a great thread to read if you're looking for a few laughs.
  5. Damn Hendry, what an idiot for not getting a guy who was healthy enough to step to the plate 81 times in the first three and a half months of the season! Stupid idiot!
  6. The Rangers-Orioles game the other day is a good reason why these things don't hold a lot of water.
  7. I don't think ESPN televises games on Friday nights, do they?
  8. The girl on the right is hot. The girl on the left? You can't really tell. She could be hot, but she could be ugly too. I voted for the girl on the right.
  9. Good RH power threat off the bench, something we've been lacking all year. We likely won't be giving up anything significant. Nice addition.
  10. I like Hank. He's very good defensively, calls a great game, and as I mentioned somewhere yesterday afternoon, seems to have a knack for coming through in big situations -- as he did last night. As a backup catcher, he's solid.
  11. WTF? Why was Fox laying on the ground when the camera panned back to him?
  12. You know more about the minors than I do. But what stands out to me is that Ronny basically had one really good year in his six year professional baseball career. Combine that with the fact (or the opinion, whatever) that he looks lost at the plate, on the basepaths, and in the field, and I see no future as a major league baseball player. To each his own though, and I won't be upset if Ronny proves me wrong.
  13. I don't know, but it's pissing me off. These guys should be buried by now, yet they're right in the race. Geez, how long did it take Zito to retire the side... 4 minutes?
  14. How many pitches did he throw that inning?
  15. The level of difficulty does though, and Cedeno isn't good enough to play at this level. How is it possible to be so great on one level and then be not even worthy of a roster spot on the next level. It makes no sense. Come on man, it's not like Cedeno is/was a can't miss prospect or anything. He was pretty good in Rookie ball, then stunk his way through A ball over the course of two and a half years, was alright in AA, very very good in AAA, then awful in his first full season in the big leagues, and looked like crap this year in both stints with the club. So really, in the five levels (Rookie, A, AA, AAA, and MLB) he was great in one of them. Fluke? I have my opinion, you're welcome to yours, but I can't say I agree with it. It couldn't possibly be that the Cubs rushed him through those other levels when he wasn't age-appropriate. Ahh, why do I bother? SSR can do this better than me. He was 18 when he started A ball, 21 when he finished. I don't think rushing him was at all an issue.
  16. Hes been due now for 5 months Better late than never!
  17. Nice play, Rich! And I like Floyd starting tonight, he's due for a hot streak.

  19. Update... We drew for draft slots today, and I'm 2nd in a 9 team league (we have a total of 18 teams, split into two league). Anyways, I'm assuming LT will go first, so who would you choose with that pick? Johnson or Jackson? Or someone else?
  20. Holy crap!
  21. That '04 team was so loaded. It hurts to think about what could've been.
  22. The level of difficulty does though, and Cedeno isn't good enough to play at this level.
  23. No, I don't. I don't think Cedeno has a future as a major league baseball player. He has horrible pitch recognition, makes stupid mistakes on the basepaths, and isn't good on defense. I don't care if he's had success facing guys who will mostly never be MLB players, he hasn't done anything when he's been up in the big leagues.
