  1. The whole Royal roster plus their whole farm system for Pie. (Royals pay all salaries) Are you really the Tampa Bay GM?
  2. I don't know how well...hitters will be able to tee off on him.
  3. CPatt coming back ought to make things very interesting on the big team. I hope he has gotten his swing fixed and can only help the Cubs...by his addition and by subtracting a Macias/Holla.
  4. Jenkins or Maddux? They are my two favorite Cub pitchers and also wear/wore the same number.
  5. I would think almost any team would....even this year. His defense and speed and potential bat make him a great 4th/5th OF this year or even a starter if needed. But he's ours...back off :D So what you're saying is: "That's my Pie!"
  6. Paulino is 24 He can mash. Hill was actually sent down, but I recall him loafing down the line as well. I was impressed with Sadler's tools. Unfortunately, he has no command of the strikezone. Paulino has a very quick bat. He holds the bat even with his nose and gets the bat in a loaded postion very quickly so it makes me wonder how he would hit off of an off speed pitcher.
  7. Maybe the Royals are hoping Hendry will take Pie off the 40 man roster? :D I would think that a lot of low budget teams would be interested in a player like Pie.
  8. If he is the best available option for 2006 I say yes. If the Cubs field: CPatt CF Lawton LF Murton RF ARam 3B Nomar SS Walker 2B Lee 1B Barrett C I'd be content with that team...not thrilled but ok.
  9. A lapdance from Roseanne Barr. I've always thought that CPatt's hands were in the wrong position when he gets loaded and his bat just too up and down for my taste. I hope this works for the kid becuse I think he would be a nice addition along with Nomar and Wood.
  10. "Mr. Miles is Lurking" it could be the new name to Bruces column.
  11. I'm starting to think that Vance is one of the Bonds guys....the hot chicks and the inside info. Vance....Vance Bonds.
  12. Not even close. Now it's close.
  13. Welcome to the forum!
  14. ARod over neifi? are you kidding me? What, am I just supposed to like, cast him aside after he saved our butts? /dusty. That is company line.
  15. The trade I was hoping for didn't happen. Perez, Macias and Remmy for ARod.
  16. I think the options available are going to dictate what direction Hendry is going to go. Sammy will be off the books for good now, correct?
  17. Are you suggesting that Harry Potter may have used steroids to get an advantage?
  18. I would guess at least a B, but it seems whatever process they use to determine those ratings sometimes produces strange results. I'm not sure if I'd want the Cubs to offer him arbitration, anyway. It wouldn't hurt to have him around for another year or two, I suppose, but not at his current salary level. Given his production it's hard to see an arbiter deciding to give him a paycut, making the decision to offer arbitration a tough one. I'd probably try to get a 1-2 year deal done before the arbitration offer deadline passes. If he agrees to a reasonable deal (say something in the $10-$12 million over two years range) that's great. If not, let him walk. If he likes Chicago, which it seems most players do, I can't see why he wouldn't sign for what you wrote unles.....with the lack of OF free agents out there in 2006 I wonder if Lawton might get an overbid. I'd offer arb because of the lack of OF too.
  19. I wonder what type free agent Lawton will be....A or B or C?
  20. I like: Lawton LF Nomar SS Lee 1B ARam 3B Burnitz CF Walker 2B Murton RF Barrett C I'd fiddle with the ARam and Burnitz spots depending on the pitcher.
  21. Seems like he's taking the old "Yeah, I took it, but it was an accident" route. Maybe he "tripped going down the stairs and fell onto the needle"? Maybe it'll be steroid excuse #47658 "I did drugs with a hooker and shared a needle".
  22. Steriod detection times vary, but I heard the longest time is 18 months. here you go. http://www.steroidtips.com/detection.htm Interesting...thanks.
  23. I don't have word but I do have a Vanilla Ice CD...is that good enough?
  24. Yea, but I think he's still being tested. THe teller is going to be Post "Knee" surgery Bonds. If he comes back and hits .240 with 16 Homers, then we KNOW he is juicing. Are players on the DL tested? I don't think they are. Players on the DL are subject to testing according to Jayson Stark. However, as of three weeks ago, Giant players were subjected twice to testing (not all of them get tested at the same time for some reason), and I thought that the report said that Bonds hadn't been at that time. Thanks JC. I thought that some players on the DL could be on drugs to help them heal so they would have to wait until they got off the DL. You'd think that if MLB really wanted to clear up steroids Bonds would have been one of the first guys tested.
