  1. What I liked was the "if I had the horses" line. No crap Dusty if any manager had the best players he'd win....we except for you of course. How many World Series wins has this proven winner Baker have to his credit?
  2. Pretty interesting article. I really can't believe it's taken the major papers this long to write this but it's a start.
  3. But you have to blow it up from the top or else all is moot. Baker and his staff HAVE to go at the very very least. What'd I say ??? I just wanted to make sure your whole and my top were the same thing. :D Man....that sentence could be taken in many ways.

  5. I'm happy with Cedeno and expect him to keep improving. I watched Marshall throw well yesterday and saw vets look like they never played baseball before on defense. Marshall kept the ball in the park and no one helped him. If the vets did their job the rookies would be just helping where they could and not HAVE to be the guys to count on. Baker is suppose to be the end all when it comes to getting vets to play better and he is not getting any production out of these guys. Now he has to blame Cedeno, Murton and the young pitchers.....amazing.
  6. Anyone with less than 7 years playing experience is a rookie to this guy. Be a man and don't blame them Baker will you? Oh yeah Baker, explain how Florida is doing so much better than the Cubs too while you're at it? Coward. Or how about the Dodgers (with a similar payroll situations, and injuries) with 7 rookies? It's amazing how all the evidence is building up against Baker but yet the jury is rigged. I know a lot of people like to see the young guys play, but we don't have players like the Dodgers. Name one rookie or second year player having a good season. Since there are only 0 everyday rookies on the team I'd say none unless Cedeno is considered a rookie then I would say he's doing his part to help the team. Murton is having a below last year type season but again, they are the only young guys on this everyday roster. I think the rookies that have split the 4/5 spots in the rotation have done their part, not outstanding but decent. Baker just can not handle pressure and is too thin skinned to except blame. The guys he seems to love to play so much are the ones that are killing him.
  7. I'm curious on how hard the Farns is throwing these days? Wasn't he a steroid rumor guy too?

  9. Is it possible that Hendry is just too close to the subject right now and needs to take a step back and evaluate? I just can't believe he would be this clueless and if he is I have no interest in having him be the GM. If we keep yelling from every angle somebody has to hear it.
  10. Nice job once again BK! I look forward to Gallagher pitching for the Marlins.
  11. This is just surreal. He is always so willing to take the credit for when they do well and so quick to blame others when they struggle. Off course God forbid Hendry admit his mistake and release this guy....he won't even release Rusch.
  12. Because the Mets would never trade Wright. He's the franchise. You got that right. I think if the Cubs offered Jones, Walker, Williamson and Maddux for Milledge and a B prospect it might work.
  13. I'd rather have a guy like Theriot on the team than Neifi or Womack. Fontenot deserves a shot too. 308/396/452 I just do not understand why they never give this guy a shot. Probably because he walks too much.
  14. College of GM's....it's stupid enough to work. OK...it won't but the Cubs should try it so they can have just another excuse.
  15. The insurance guy wants to know this too.

  17. I'll never be in the know for anything then. Me no spell so good.
  18. You're absolutely right. If he watched the game on 6/25/06 and still said those things he has no right to ever GM again. This team is lost and Bakers country club atmosphere let's it continue.
  19. That's great. And totally stolen from me earlier in this thread... Dusty... Cant Understand Basic Stats Got OBP? I swear I didn't see what you wrote...honest!
  20. I have no Idea why the bolded would interest anyone, even considering Blanco's hot streak. Pierre would be wanted by a contender. Remember when the Red Sox picked up Dave Roberts for their world series run. I think all he did was run the bases. He stole a key base as a pinch runner that started the Red Sox comeback in the ALCS. That was pretty awesome, everyone knew he was stealing and he still made it. Anyways, someone will want him. Would the Cubs get the pitchers they traded for him back?
  21. Just think if Demspter was pitching and the game was 4-2 he would have had a save and a 4-3 win!
  22. Nope...just more excuses. Baker...."Hey....they had problems catching the ball too. That white roof is one tough cat to find the ball and hitting in it is pretty tough too. They are used to it while we're not and they took advantage of our inexperienced left fielder but Murton will learn."
  23. Nah, it'll be Radke. :D Why not both? Quick, get the Twins on the phone! Tell them we're willing to offer Gallagher, Marmol, and Patterson! If they're hesitating, throw in Pie. That'll get the deal done! Don't kid!!!! This will be the only time Hendry reads this baord and this will be the thing he reads!
