  1. Once he took an outside corner fastball for strike 3....he should be booted off the team for that and sent to Oakland or Boston. That ain't no way to play ball.
  2. I think it was durning the Nixon administration.
  3. Member when he threw out 8 Cubs at home that one time..member? If Hendry makes this move he will prove once and for all he should be gone as GM.
  4. Wow...Neifi strikes out looking....has that ever happened before?
  5. They are trying to swing at every pitch, that much is clear. Ha...true! Ohman impressing the Mets...watch the genius trade him instead of some wasting away vet.
  6. Is it me or are these guys trying to pull every pitch?
  7. Vance, you know the Cubs will not trade Howry (or Eyre) this yr. Maybe next yr, but most likely in 2008 when he would be a soon-to-be FA. Why are getting people hopes up, like that? I would like to see if the White Sox would do a Rich Hill and Scott Williamson for Garcia type deal. i would much rather have hill than garcia or vasquez. Me too. If the Cubs make a move I hope it's for an impact bat or a potential impact bat. Hendry could have got these 2 guys for pennys on the dollar before.
  8. No way you are going to throw 2 pitchouts...Baker and his psuedo micro managing.
  9. Baker down 6-2 calls for a pitchout...good idea.
  10. Greg you're with the Cubs now...you ain't getting those calls anymore.
  11. Don't worry Willie...you guys will get more runs.
  12. OK...are these NY announcers saying it's Lee's fault he had all those homers and very few RBI?
  13. He plays ball the old school way.
  14. Hendry thinks Good OBP is a good idea. He just thinks it stands for Good"Ole Boy Percentage"
  15. I think there is one about how high on grass you can be but I'm not sure about how high the grass should be. I think it's up to each team but it does make sense that it couldn't be higher than X.
  16. Ryan bring an extra soft cushion with you. I wonder if this means a middle infielder (Walker) will be traded?
  17. I'd like to see those 2 guys called up and Baker and his staff released. Thanks for the update on Pie/Joshua. If Pie wants to be a complete hitter he'll have to continue working on those change-ups/curves and it's good to hear he is learning. Rothschild hasn't impressed me with his handling of the staff either and I'm surprised that he would feel that way about Hill or any young pitcher, it's not conducive for growth.
  18. Do you realize that Baker may get an extension if the Cubs "improve" because they've been without the horses? That's what my money is on. I was going to Chicago next year but not if this happens.
  19. You probably weigh 90 pounds then. I think Hendry will trade a few of the players that could help the team next year while keeping Perez, Rusch and any other players like that. You have to build a solid base for a 90 loss team.
  20. Keep dreaming my friend.
  21. I was speaking from their perspective rather than my own. Also, there are plenty of guys out there with high averages and OBPs that are not much higher. The guy batting leadoff for the Cubs, for example. Like I pointed out in my other post, if you look up the top 40 OBP guys in the majors 37-38 of them are good hitters. Sure there are some good hitters that don't have high OBP, just as there are bad hitters that have outstanding OBP, but they tend to be the exception rather than the norm. Is it possible that they are good hitters because they are patient?
  22. Thats interesting. I wonder if they would move him for more pitching. Williamson + Hill for Freel? Depending on what we do the offseason Freel could start at 2B, SS, or CF for us next year. Hendry did say Hill was going to get another chance but he didn't say with who.
  23. It's because Jimmies better then you.
  24. If he wants to be stubburn maybe this will help push out the door then. It's about the organization and not Jim Hendry or Dusty Baker and they are not doing their jobs. This debacle is sickening.
