It may have to. 28-21 Louisville at the end of the first quarter. Far as I can tell, neither team has punted. 541 yards of total offense - in one quarter. :shock: 31-28 now with 11 minutes to go in the half. Not sure either team can spell defense. Louisville's defense and common sense are not there to today. MTS is playing a heck of a game.

I realize that September division races magnify these types of games and the later they happen the more of a mental impact they are but I'm a firm believer in not blaming any player for a loss just as I don't say 1 player won the game. It's a team game and it's 9 innings, the Cubs had their chances throughout the game. The Cubs just have to bounce back tomorrow and win, they still control their own destiny.

Yep, he's done a good job this year. Now it's up to his teammates to pick him up and score some runs in the 9th. Dempster - ERA after today 3.5+. SOs/IPs = 48/55 Marmol ERA 1.45. 77/56 Saves are misleading. Dempster gets hit hard and doesn't strike out enough guys to be a good closer which is why he is constantly in trouble even when he does get lucky saves. Lucky saves? Is this a stat? :roll: Yes, 25 saves with a 3.5 ERA. Whoops.....I meant Dempster was having a Cy Young type of year. Silly me, forgot that I have to speak in extremes in this thread.

I think it's been like 3 months. I saw him get a hit up the middle just the other day.

I would hardly consider Loney and Ethier to be "skid marks". they are compared to the guys the Cubs have. Also, Ramirez should never have been used so early, and Lou's gonna regret it. I think Lou did the right thing regarding Ramirez. It's up to the rest of the team to step up and close the deal.

Is this coming as a surprise to anyone? That freaking team could sign Neifi Perez and Jose Macias and drag 100 OPS+ seasons out of both of them, complete with gold gloves. I really think that part of that is that they expect to win and the positive mental framing that goes with it. I highly doubt that. So you really think the drain of playing on a crappy team helps? Have you ever went from a crappy team to a good one?
