  1. Ugh, postponed games are worse than days off! On the other hand, I'm seeing the Cubs when they come to San Francisco on May 22nd... If the Cubs have 3 rainouts and the Giants none, it might work out to see Arrieta vs Bumgarner... I can't say I wouldn't enjoy that.
  2. Bryant is awesome. In case anyone hadn't figured that out already.
  3. Sac bunt down 8... I think this is the wrong play, I don't care how bad a hitter is up there...
  4. Soler is a bit of a mystery. When he is patient, he does have a good eye, but when he gets into "I'm going to hit a HR" mode, he gets too aggressive, and pitchers know how to beat him easily. That AB he thought he would get something to crush, and didn't think about anything else, although he did foul off that one really tough breaking ball, which was good.
  5. I went to bed early tonight to be able to wake up for this game... I expect good things.
  6. I think Kerry Wood's 20K game was the best pitched game in the history of baseball (I know I'm biased, but even taking that bias into account, I still think that's the case). I didn't get to watch that game live, as it was the days before the internet made such things possible. I have seen replays of the game, though, and it was amazing. That said... tonight's game, was the greatest Cubs game I have ever seen. It's hard to say that 20K is better than no-hitter or the other way around, because they utilize different methods of pitching. The offense in this game, however, puts this one on a whole different level. I am so excited about this season, and I was already convinced this was the year. The only question now is how does this team surprise us every single day, and I can't wait to see it.
  7. Revisiting Pat's call, I think it's pretty good. Leading up to it, you could tell he was feeling the intensity... you can hear it in his voice with the final call as well.
  8. This was the best game I think I've ever seen. Unbelievable pitching, hitting, fielding... I had serious issues with Ross catching tonight, but now I'm so excited he got this feather in his cap... What a game for Bryant too!
  9. Still on pace for 119 wins... which I do believe is a record... Get to start a new winning streak tomorrow.
  10. Hey, we took 2 of 3 in their house... I'll take it.
  11. i know, we should have focused on offense a little more during Theo's big rebuild. Exactly!
  12. If only we had 2 through 6 guys who could get Fowler in!
  13. I like Zobrist. Maybe now that Rizzo remembers how to hit, he can explain it to the rest of the guys...
  14. That's one of those calls you wonder how the ump could have possibly got it wrong.
  15. Hey, we already won the series, and there's plenty to go today... but it does seem like one of those days where everything goes their way.
  16. yeah, that's gonna happen around 40 times so be ready to deal with the anguish Yeah, just hopefully not today.
  17. I don't think it's over, but on Sunday I didn't think it was over and it was...
  18. Not sure what to think about this... I mean, why worry when we win... but at the same time, where are the hits?
  19. I said before the season that the Cubs could easily start the season 9-3 and that would be awesome... I can't believe how annoyed I'm going to be if that's the case.
  20. Rizzo is also struggling, but I keep expecting him to go 4 for 4 with 6 RBI or something...
