  1. Damn I am good. Ponson = 7 IP 4 H 2 BB 4K 0 ER He must have a hell of a pitching coach down there in Oklahoma.
  2. So when does Jozy head to Europe?
  3. Starting for the RedHawks tonight should be none other than Sidney Ponson. He pitched well when I saw him on Wednesday night and I would look for another solid outing. He's still featuring a low 90's fastball.
  4. Rough for Holliman and that's not even the best lineup that the 'Hawks can throw out there. No Arias, Salty, or Mench tonight. The back end of the Hawks pen is solid also, so its not looking good for the I-Cubs.
  5. I got a good look at the I-Cubs opponent for the next four days, the OK Redhawks. I went to the Tuesday - Thursday games in OKC against Round Rock. The I-Cubs rotation will face an excellent lineup and a solid rotation featuring none other than a very rejuvinated Sidney Ponson, who will start on Monday. The 'Hawks are in first place and their only real weakness is defensively, though Nelson Cruz has one of the better arms I've seen in awhile. Incidently, I saw Kaz Matsui rehabbing from, that's right, hemorrhoids. .

    NHL Playoffs

Ok so maybe I'd rather not have played the Flyers in round one. ;) This series makes it really difficult to tell if the Penguins are playing that well or if the Sens are just that bad. I guess we'll find out in Round 2.
  7. This pick is not even a little bit difficult. The Steelers are in desperate need of help on the OL. I would have preferred B. Albert of C. Williams, but such is life. Thus, with the 23rd selection in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select... Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College He could come in and start at RT immediately.
  8. yeah it didn't go over well. steigy was ok when paired with lange, but is brutal with errey. i know we are loyal to a fault with the old guys who won the two stanley cups, but errey sucks and always has. the post lemieux years were pretty rough, but for some reason, since he arrived in 1984, there has always been a light at the end of the tunnel. he saved them when he was drafted, he saved them when they were going bankrupt and he got them the arena that is going to keep them in town. its pretty remarkable.
  9. Nice Pittsburgh blast there at the end. I don't know what their TV announcers are like because I don't live there anymore, but the radio PBP guy, Mike Lange, is widely regarded as one of the best in the business. I can understand your bitterness towards Pittsburgh seeing as how we swept you last season and worked you last night. I really hope we draw the Flyers in the first round. i really don't care about the pens. their fans are the ones who hate the flyers; the pens fall a distant third on our hate chart. aside from cindy crosby - who, the other 29 teams in the league realize, is very good at starting battles and letting other people finish them for him - i don't really hate anyone on that team either. as for last season, you helped us be bad enough to get the #2 pick in the draft and open the organization's eyes that they were sorely lacking in speed and offensive talent. so thanks for sweeping us last year; it really did us a favor. there have been studies done saying that certain markets like "homer" announcers and certain markets like more unbiased announcing, and pittsburgh definitely falls under the cities that prefers homers. i thought mike lange knew what he was talking about, but when you're bitching about "spearing" when he's clearing try to dig the puck loose from between a player and the boards, i don't know what to say. a guy who has called the game for that long should know the difference. i don't know why you'd want to play the flyers in the first round. we're as talented (albeit poorly coached) as any team in the east, and we've had good success this year against the pens. the craps are a much easier first round draw. Pens fans have a long memory and I think we've hated the Flyers since the Broad Street Bullies were destroying us back in the day. You know hockey well, so I'll take your word for it on the Mike Lange thing. I can admit to being a homer and since I grew up on Mike Lange, I can't bring myself to say a disparaging word about him. I still listen to him on NHL radio when I have time, but its harder to critique when you can't see what's actually happened. I agree the Flyers are probably a tougher draw, but the Pens have won the last three, including a 7-1 laugher last month at Mellon Arena. The only blowout for the Flyers was an 8-2 pasting back in December with Dany Sabourin in goal. Sabourin won't be able to see the ice without binoculars come playoff time.
  10. Truff, Clearly the guy from Houston named Sampson is THIS guy... http://www.nba.com/theater/images/gallery/sampson_r_draft.jpg

  12. Any reason why Fuku's not running at all? And on Jason Kendall no less?
  13. I realize that the IU search has created much more interest on the board, but South Carolina has a new head coach. It is Western Kentucky head coach Darrin Horn. For those of you giving Crean all the love for Dwyane Wade, it was Horn who got him to Marquette. No coach has ever won anything at a press conference, but for a 35 year old head coach, he crushed it. I am very excited about the future of South Carolina basketball. I saw only two WKU games in the tourney but I liked what I saw. Granted, it took him 5 years to get to the tourney, but he did a good job. South Carolina could have done worse. An now word out Columbia is that Crean will be involved in the Marquette search and has said that Horn should be the number one candidate. Marquette is expected to gauge his interest. Could we be Creminsed again?

  15. Go [expletive]!!! I live in Columbia as well, huge Carolina fan, hopefully we take it to Kentucky tonight. Boy the took it to us last night. Hopefully we'll get it back later today.
  16. We need a new coach. Our number one choice, Jeff Capel, just re-signed in Oklahoma for more money. Look for a few other coaches to use us for a raise. Our AD loves Sean Miller, but not his buyout. The Western Kentucky coach and UMASS coach Travis Ford are also on our list.
  17. What an extremely intelligent thing to do. I'm sure he won't get in any trouble because of that picture. Nice work. Problem #1 should be with the IRS. I'm sure he didn't decalre the $10K he would carrying around, so there's a felony. On the other hand, it explains why Clemson has had some good to great recruiting classes lately. Clemson's explanation is that he was visiting a family member who owns a bunch of ATMs and Page was going with him to refill the ATMs and thought the cash was cool so a picture.
  18. This is good news for me. I'll get to see him when I am in OKC next month. It'll be cool to meet him.
  19. Two quick observations: 1. Convey sucks 2. When did Dempsey develop a heroin habit? EDIT: 3. Mexican soccer players dive a LOT.
  20. South Carolina is on the cusp of a top 25 class. Signing Tommy Streeter and Chaz Sutton will ease the blow of missing out on most of our late targets. Things aren't looking to hot with Streeter at the moment, though.
  21. Having spent their 1 and 2 last season on LBs, I don't see Pittsburgh going with a LB here. Woodley will likely start in place of Haggans next season, and the team is already grooming Timmons to move inside. The Steelers most glaring weakness right now is on the OL. With Faneca likely leaving and the tackle play spotty, I see the Steelers going OL in round one. yeah this is definitely the direction the steelers should go. their O-line play was downright bad the last few games; their lack of depth really showed when marvel smith got hurt. and their center (sean mahan) is just brutal. i know they just signed him to a 5-year deal, but he's a complete turnstile. willie colon isn't very good either. If I was big and could fight and saw Sean Mahan on the street, I would fight him. Since none of these things is likely to happen any time soon, said fight won't take place. Bottom line is that Sean Mahan absolutely sucks at football and probably at life. I don't care what the cap ramifications are, Mahan has to go. Considering the quality of the last 3 starting centers for the Steelers, it's even worse. Also, I agree that Colon isn't that hot, but they need to focus on interior linemen.

  23. I'll take the Steelers.
  24. I don't want to divert the topic, but I never understood the "punch something inanimate when I'm angry" thing. Its got to hurt.
  25. how is this hit not a personal foul? since when can you leave your feet to tackle the QB? You aren't seriously asking that question, are you?
