  1. Wittenmeyer is a hack, in a town full of bad sports writers, he is the worst of the bunch. He started on Bradley last year before the first pitch of the season was thrown and never let up. Bradley could/should have let it roll off his back but Wittenmeyer was counting on Bradley's history of letting the media get to him, to fan the flames. Now Bradley is gone yet he still wants to throw a final jab with the "anti-Bradley" remark. Wittenmeyer is a classless POS.
  2. if aparicio doesn't care then why should anyone else? It shouldn't have gotten to the point of asking Aparicio's permission. The Sox organization should have said no , retired is retired. Especially for a guy who hasn't played a game in a White Sox uni. And really, Ozzie should have given up his number, he's supposed to be a player's manager.
  3. Typical of a no-class organization.
  4. You got that from that paragraph? Amazing.
  5. Nope, after reading some of the comments by the anti-DH crowd here, I'm thinking the DH would be a good thing for the NL.
  6. Letting Hendry trade for Granderson has potential disaster written all over it. If Ricketts was serious about building the system thru the farm system, I'll be very disappointed if he allows Hendry to trade away any of the top tier prospects.
  7. After the Deadbirds sweep, the season is not totally meaningless for Cub fans. http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z262/jiml60/DeadCardinal.jpg
  8. The sooner Ricketts takes over and cans Hendry, the better.
  9. you're welcome.
  10. Wishful thinking'd
  11. I've never been there, though I live less than a mile from it, but I would say that one thing that keeps it from being a truly, beautiful park is the Sox fans themselves.
  12. The Cubs have done far worse than Cameron.
  13. This. And if you're a Cub fan and rooting for the Cardinals...you're a sick human being. that's only, like, your opinion man For true Cub fans, especially those born and raised on Cubs baseball in Chicago, I think it holds up as gospel. You wouldn't see a Chicago Bears fan rooting for the Packers to win a Super Bowl.

  15. I could not believe how ridiculous she sounded.....could not believe it. And she went on and on and on and on...... Did you know she really, really, loves words....and read the dictionary a a child? She was really happy that everyone could take time out of their extraordinary lives to share such an amazing social experience too.
  16. If you think she was bad on TV, you should have heard her on the radio with Pat & Ron.
  17. They probably still take 2 of 3 from us this weekend.
  18. I can't tell what's worse, Wojo's 14 reasons or the idiots commenting afterwards.
  19. It would be just like Bud and MLB to make one stupid move to cover up another.
  20. The Cubs were going to use up options every single year on Samardzija regardless since he got a major league contract. He will get 4 of them though so he will still have 1 left for next year. Other than that I definitely agree with your post. I can definitely see the temptation to hold off on a guy's possible future development if he is a key player on the major league team. But if he's mediocre or worse in the majors anyway, why are they not more concerned about his potential vs. the little he's giving them right now? It doesn't make sense. It seems management's strategy is to catch lightening in a bottle than actually finding or producing better players.
  21. I pray that Hendry is not the GM of this team in three years.
  22. Hopefully Soriano is back on track and the last 2 games haven't been flukes. Hope so too, it would be nice if this was the start of one of his hot streaks; they're going to need an offensive boost going into Philadelphia.
  23. It's 4 wins and after the way the first half of the season went, to only be 2 out of first place is remarkable. A win is a win.
