  1. If Groce is the absolute right guy and has great success, does he stick around long-term? Fair or not, the way Kruger and Self left Illinois I just wonder about that. Different situations for sure...Henson stuck around for a long time but after his Final Four team he kind of hit a plateau of sorts.
  2. I could see Cody going pro for the 2013 draft. I don't think Luke and Tyler's decisions to be 4 year players means much in regards to what Cody will do, at least from the standpoint that Cody's draft stock early in his career is way beyond what the other two experienced.
  3. It was either Watford goes pro or have Austin Etherington fed to a pack of hyenas.
  4. I am glad the Iowa and Iowa State fans are taking on the trokel duties today. :good:
  5. I prefer the term yotroll. Trokel has more of a ring to it.
  6. Who are you talking about? A few yokels/trolls? I certainly don't recall anyone here saying so. It's pretty difficult to say with a new coach, but Illinois should be pretty good (and I'm assuming Meyers Leonard leaves). (Though, in the yokels/trolls defense, Illinois went 6-12 last year in the Big Ten, figures to lose an NBA Lottery pick, and does not have much of a recruiting class. While it may be likely that the talented young players improve and Groce is an upgrade over Weber, neither of those things are a certainty.) Sosa21MVP about two pages ago. Ugh, I missed that. Well, he also doesn't think losing Watford will hurt, so . . . I did not say it will not hurt at all. I just don't think it would hurt the team as much as you think it would given the overall talent level we'll still have on the roster. Given a choice, I'd rather have Watford back. Hollowell kind of blew up this last high school season, I'd give him a fair shot at replacing some of that production. Perea is more of a raw talent so yeah between the two, it would be my hope Jeremy can step up. And yes, I was trolling Bruce Weber. I thought it was fairly obvious but apparently not. :P
  7. It's uncertain whether Watford will be a small forward or a power forward next year. Really depends on how advanced Perea is when he shows up. I do think losing Watford would hurt though because he is so versatile. A forward that can guard PG's and is capable of putting up 20/10. That's a valuable player to have, even if some games he just disappears. Having Watford on the floor makes Indiana's lineup combinations easier because he can shift positions and be a matchup problem at either one (to a lesser extent Oladipo and Sheehey can do this as well). Hollowell reminds me a lot of Watford coming out of high school, but Watford wasn't nearly the player he is now as a freshman, so I don't think you can expect Hollowell to come close to filling his shoes. And btw SSR, of the players you're referencing, Indiana will only have 1 of them left for next year, and he is projected to be at best 9th on the depth chart (before figuring out whoever leaves, obviously if Watford leaves he jumps up to 6th or 7th). If Watford doesn't leave there's a chance he'll be out of the rotation altogether. The league should be wide open and we can be right in the middle of it. I do know one thing, though. I think Illinois will suck.
  8. I don't feel too uncomfortable in saying I think Jeremy Hollowell and Hanner Perea can replace Watford's minutes without being talentless white goons.
  9. lol I know, right? 2012 will be such torture if Watford leaves. I might not even be able to bring myself to watch a game.
  10. I don't think this is Groce at all. Yeah I don't think Groce would be that guy at all. I think he has some promise as a young head coach.
  11. IIRC, there is no testing the waters anymore. If he declares, he's gone. He does get to get some advice before he officially declares, but that's it. It would hurt 2012 if Watford left, but it would help 2013 so I'm not too concerned about it. It might not even make that big of a difference next year if some of the freshmen play well. I don't know that it would hurt 2012 that much. Christian is kind of a wildly inconsistent player. I do think the 2012 kids could make up for it overall. Plus Watford going pro would conveniently solve the scholarship crunch for 2012. :-"
  12. I caught a ball during batting practice and got it signed by Carlos Perez and Steve Kline. \:D/ Got the immortal Chuck Carr to autograph a program for me. Also picked up the sought after Felix Jose autograph once. But yeah my best autograph from Wrigley is my scorecard signed by Ferguson Jenkins.
  13. That's not new. That was going on last year during the Painter debacle. It was going on with the Smart debacle, it's common now. It's still creepy. College sports fans are all closet stalkers It happened during IU's last coaching search too. I'm not singling out Illinois fans. The Columbus Dispatch just published the photo/address of Urban Meyer's house, which has OSU in an uproar as they know all the meatball Buckeye fans will be camping on his lawn now Did he buy Woody's house?

  15. It was raining all day. So he was drawing in chalk during the rain? He's not going to Illinois though. It was nice in Indy this afternoon after the rain this morning. Same way here in Fort Wayne. It didn't start raining again until around 5pm.
  16. It was raining all day. So he was drawing in chalk during the rain? He's not going to Illinois though. Eh, the clouds clear wherever Brad Stevens walks.
  17. I'll pray for Bryson tonight.
  18. Wow, how OLD are you? 35, soon to be 36. That's not old. Says the soon to be 33 year old. :D Well apparently it boggles the mind of Da Bum Jr. I clearly remember every game of IU's 1987 title run along with everything after that...the Cheaney years...RMK's plateau and downfall...the 2002 semi-finalist team...so forth and so on. I'm just trying to figure out why any PUke fan would think I care about the overall series. :P
  19. Wow, how OLD are you? 35, soon to be 36.
  20. I think the fact that Purdue just got swept by IU and might not beat them again anytime soon, that is a lot more telling. We've got like 30 to burn before you catch us in the all-time series... Yeah, I lose sleep at night over that all-time series. So in other words, you accept your role in the grand scheme of things. =D> As, in, we've beaten you more often? Yes? Is IU the only blue blood with a losing record against their chief rival? I've actually seen Indiana win a national championship in my lifetime along with two other final four appearances and you are trying to troll me on the IU-PU overall series? I guess I could pretend to care for your sake. :hello:
  21. Yeah...she went a few plastic surgeries too far.
  22. There are good fake tans? You can never be Da Bum, no matter how hard you try. There was only one. *pours beer on the curb*

  24. Not before Tom embarrasses IU some more. Tell him to stop tanning, buy some clothes that fit, stop clapping, and stop snorting coke. I'm so embarrassed by our 27-8 season, I can hardly put on my IU gear in public. True story. It's the fact that IU fans aren't embarrassed by him that's telling. They embraced and flaunted Kelvin Sampson. There is some truth there. However I'd rate clapping and a bad fake tan as not quit as serious an issue as serial cheating. But maybe that is just me.
