  1. Koyie Hill is starting once again. Would be real nice if somebody would question Lou on his justification of starting a catcher with a June OPS of 632 and a career OPS of 554 over the guy who has a June OPS of 1.139 and career OPS of .817 on a team that is consistently struggling to score runs. Noway in hell you can justify it by defense, NONE.
  2. Hill starting again, this is unreal. Itd be nice if a member of the Chicago media would grow a pair and question him.
  3. Why would have to be a contract swap for Fukudome? Given the escalated contracts, his production, and ability to play CF, I don't see why the Cubs would have to trade contracts as it would likely defeat the purpose of trading him which would be to clear payroll and obtain younger players. If not a contract swap, then they will have to eat a significant portion of the contract to get anything of value in return. Kosuke is an interesting case. Even eating some of his contract, I don't see teams giving up much of anything for him. In all honesty, why the hell would they? In two seasons he has established his hot start and then fade into the summer sun track record. It seems to be happening yet again this year. July 2009 OPS .926 August 2009 OPS .904
  4. Completely forgot about the Foe button.
  5. Haha, I love how Lou says "notice how when Wells gets into trouble hes pitching from the stretch". Well Lou, its hard to get into trouble while pitching from the windup when nobody is on base......
  6. yes, jim hendry is going to look to this thread to decide whether to fire lou and if he sees it's an unorganized mess, he won't even bother. let's get our ducks in a row, people. Wtf are you talking about? Who said anything about Hendry? I understand you are trying to be your normal smartass, arrogant, prick self, but at least make sense when you are trying to. The Soriano discussion has nothing to do with "Fire Lou Piniella" so it should be separated into its own thread. Hard to understand?
  7. One of those games where it wasn't the better team that won, but rather the team that sucked less. After an uncharacteristic slug fest on Friday, both team showed their true colors on Saturday and Sunday. I still say that if Fukudome was in RF Saturday afternoon, the Cubs win 1-0. Also, while I didnt like the move at the time, walking Rios with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out was the right move. Rios was a lot more likely to, if nothing else hit one into the outfield and drive in the tying run while Konerko and Quentin are much more free swingers who probably dont have a chance at making solid contact vs. Marmol. Even though the move worked, it definitely wasn't the right move. Walking the bases loaded with a guy like Marmol who struggles to find the zone at times, isn't smart. Considering Marmol has a K rate of 17 hitters per 9, Id rather take my chances with 1st base empty then put Marmol in a spot that he has to throw strikes. Its about knowing your personnel, and personally Id trust Marmol getting any hitter in the majors out a lot more than Id trust him to not hit or walk a guy if the bases were loaded.
  8. Well considering hes starting against one of the worst offenses in baseball, how he does won't really mean much in the grand scheme of things.
  9. Can we separate this Soriano non sense into its own thread? Firing Lou is the important thing right now, not that 1 person illogically thinks Soriano wouldn't get picked up by basically every team in the majors for the league minimum?
  10. For a rookie playing the yo-yo game, that K ratio isn't too surprising nor is it that bad. Hard to improve timing and pitch recongition given his playing schedule. It's not that he's being treated unfairly (although I think he should be at Iowa if he's not going to start), it's that this teams needs to go in a rebuilding direction and it would answer some serious questions whether or not to find out if he can be a ML regular in the OF. Contact issues and plate discipline have always been Colvins problems, blaming his K rate on his playing schedule is a pretty weak excuse.
  11. From his dumbass manager always raving about Hill's defense, and making defensive substitutions for Soto
  12. Do you people clamoring for Tyler Colvin understand hes striking out 1 in every 3 times at bat? Project that over a course of a season, and then tell me you think Colvin has been treated unfairly and should play more. Im not saying K's are that bad, but when hes not a walk machine or a power machine like Dunn, 1 out of every 3 times at bat is not good.
  13. We overrate Soto a lot, but yet you think Colvin should play more? Colvin is competing against 4 other people for 3 spots in the OF, all of whom have had a better career than Colvin has. Soriano and Byrd for the most part have been damn good this year, and Fuku started out really well, and still is the best option to leadoff we have on this team. What has Koyie Hill done in his career to justify playing more than Soto? Soto is younger, and has had a much better career offensively than Hill. Also, no matter what Lou or the other idiots in the media would like you to believe, the defensive difference between the 2 isn't much. The only person being overrated on this team is Tyler Colvin If only offense was the only thing that mattered as a catcher. If only reading comprehension was a skill everyone had.
  14. Why is that the real question? Oh yea, because the idiots in the Chicago media(Im looking at you Kaplan and Sullivan) like to make up stuff with no real factual proof?

  16. Correction: Lilly got Lilly a win with a bit of help from Marmol, Soriano, and Tracy.Yes, Tracy. Back on his bandwagon now huh
  17. Mr. Fundamentals Koyie Hill was scared to throw the ball
  18. And watch its going to work and make Lou look like a genius even though it was noway in hell the right move to make
  19. Hahaha you dont walk Rios right here. Marmol is too [expletive] wild to do this Lou
  20. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA And now comes the comedy!
  21. Anddddd hereeeee we gooooo. The boo's are going to be especially loud when we blow this game.
  22. Yup I asked for a loss in embarrassing fashion, but wasn't expecting it like this
