Who said Soto was hitting well? At least we know he has the chance to hit well, with Hill we know hes not going to do a damn thing.

Cant really go by McCann this year though as hes had some injuries that have kept him out of the lineup this year. The last week I know he missed 3-4 straight games.

I guess another question is how often do other teams backup catchers start, especially when the starter is far superior than the backup?

I would think 140-145 should be doable. I mean 3 off days over the past 9 days with 2 more off days coming in the next 6 days, plus a day game after night game situation in Houston sure does seem like A LOT of rest for your starting catcher who is head and shoulders better than your backup. I really dont think Lou looks ahead at the schedule to see when off days or day games after night games are coming up. He just wakes up and says [expletive] it, Hill is starting today.

I have no problem with Lee getting a day off. I know he likes to think he should be in the lineup for 162 games, but hes not getting any younger and needs some rest. With that said, it doesn't mean you put his replacement into the 3 spot of the lineup. And the Soto/Hill thing is way past ridiculous.

Tonights lineup. And no its not September yet, this is actually a lineup on June 1. Fukudome Castro Nady Colvin Soriano Fontenot Baker Hill Lilly Yup thats right, Nady is 3rd, Baker is playing vs a RH pitcher, and Soto is getting ANOTHER day off.

Hopefully this is a step in the right direction. Another umpire is in some hot water for his actions. Bill Hahn is supposedly going to receive a "stern talking to" after kicking Oswalt out of the game for yelling towards the 1st base line. Or Camby taking money from agents? Or Derrick Rose having someone else take his SATs for him in high school? You really can't be this naive.

Theriot finally out of the lineup, and yet Lou puts the guy who has an OBP in May just slightly better than Theriots in the 2 spot. Ohlendorf has allowed leftys to hit .303 with a 1.61 WHIP in his career and yet Lou still won't start Colvin.
