  1. too bad. this is the risk you run for posting so much on a chicago team-based web site. and by having two schools with such bitches for fans Says the Penn State fan......
  2. Him and Young have been very good friends for a long time, thats his reasoning.
  3. Mendenhall has about 20 less carries then Hart, and has 125 more yards on the season. Shard averages about 1.5 yards more carry, and has also caught almost 20 more passes than Hart for about 180 more yards than Hart. Team may not key on Mendenhall but they key on the run, and try stacking the box. Shard has to share his carries with Juice, the most carries hes gotten in a game is 28 compared to Hart who has had games of 44 30 and 35.
  4. Their desire to land a premier 3b hasn't exactly been a big secret either. Word was on the street that they would do everything in their power to land Aramis if he went the free agent route last year. If they can get ARod instead, they have to be pretty happy that Aramis elected to stay in Chicago. The Red Sox have over $50 million in free agents this year (Schilling, Lowell, Taverez, etc.) and over $20 million next year. In addition they have a few players like Crisp who could be traded and save $4-5 million. Because of their financial flexibility and deep pockets, the Angels and Red Sox seem to be overwhelming favorites in the ARod sweepstakes. Red Sox picked up the option on Taverez already.
  5. Well, most teams actually have a passing game that's worth paying attention to. Yea Mendenhall has been facing every teams defense knowing U of I cant pass, yet hes still had a better season than Hart, and most other backs in the nation.
  6. Id like to know what his cutoff for "young'"is. Pujols was supposedly born in 80 while Aram was in 78, and yet Aram doesnt get included but Pujols does. Is there really that much difference?
  7. Please explain Mike Hart.
  8. You are acting like its impressive that a guy you thought would redshirt had a good game against a DII school. Big deal, hes at IU, a DI Big Ten school, he should be able to look impressive against a DII school. A raw freshman had a good game against a DII school. He is at IU for a reason, and the kids at North Alabama are playing for a DII school for a reason, the freshman should be able to look good against a team, who he is more than likely, head and shoulders above talent wise. They looked like an offensive juggernaut against a DII school? Big deal, this is IU we are talking about who is ranked in the top 10 of DI. Look I already said IU will be good, but using this game as a judge for anything, is absurd. Obviously every player on IU should be able to look impressive against this school.
  9. I know prosilver lists them at the bottom. Yea Im using prosilver just didnt know if there was a way to put them at the top.
  10. Albert Pujols is considered young talent?
  11. I really like this look, but is there a way to put the users browsing this forum back at the top? I know some people have their status hidden but, while in a discussion I like to see who else is at that particular forum. Just an idea, not a big deal really.
  12. Which is still better than 2007 Steve freaking Trachsel.
  13. I'd take Mendenhall over Hart at the next level just because of durability. Agreed. I dont see Hart being that great of an NFL back and thats without the durability concerns. Mendenhall's body has taken very little punishment, and after watching both I think Shard is the better back. Like I said earlier Mendenhall really has everything in a back you could ask for.
  14. mind telling us what crap school they played? North Alabama. (I only know this because of the incessant BTN ads they showed in the press box yesterday during Ball State v. IU.) Ball State handled DIII Anderson in an exhibition today. Butler, on Friday, should pose something of a bigger test. So a DII school, thats kind of what I figured. Color me unimpressed that IU was only up 14 midway thru the 2nd half. Obviously, it's hard to get a good read when playing a D-II school, but this is a week where MSU lost to one such team. Also, since it's obviously a preseason game, they inherently were playing a D-II school. Of course they were playing a "crap school." Defensively they were unimpressive (outside of blocked shots, which are often the byproduct of initial porous defense coupled with superior athleticism). Offensively, they were quite impressive. But it remains to be seen how they'll look against real competition. That was basically my point. Raws post was talking of IU being an offensive juggernaut and stuff, but come on how can you take anything away from a game that you were playing a DII school. I just found it funny that Raw left that part out of his post, and didnt mention their uninspired defensive effort. These preseason games tell you nothing, just like that Michigan State loss tells us nothing, Agreed. I'm not putting a whole lot of stock in Michigan State's loss. They still have Izzo and a lot of talent. Same for IU, they beat a scrub D-II school by 45. So? I'm not sure what that means. I'm disappointed by their defensive effort. They'll be able to outscore a lot of teams, but to be as good as they can be and beat good teams, they're going to have to play much harder and better there. However, I was there and this is easily the most talented and athletic team IU has had in a great number of years (1992-93 to be precise; 2000-01's talent level was close, but not athleticism). Of course, that also speaks to the doldrums IU has been in over the past decade and a half. I'm not sure what that will amount to, but IU does have a chance to be pretty damned good. I dont think you will find anyone arguing that IU has a chance to be damn good, I just took issue with Raws post. Also better enjoy it now, cause sanctions are on their way, I just wonder how strong they will be.
  15. I'd take Darren McFadden, Felix Jones and Jonathan Stewart ahead of him but I think Mendenhall would be the fourth best RB in the draft if all of them turn pro. Definitely a day 1 guy, maybe a 2nd rounder. What about Slaton and Rice? This RB class is going to be so dope. I think Mendenhall and Slaton are about the same but I know people who disagree with me on that. Ray Rice is physically behind these other guys, imo. There are some nice players available beyond the first round. And I LOVE Felix Jones. I think he could have the best career in this class. What makes you guys think Mendenhall won't come back? THere have been alot of reports coming out recently saying hes expected to go. Also, honestly his stock may never be higher, although with the team U of I will have coming back next year, he very easily could be in the Heisman discussion next year. I think its a toss up right now, but it wouldnt surprise me if he left.

  17. Eric Gordon with the du......oops http://mysite.verizon.net/kschannen/pics/nicemiss.wmv
  18. Speed power he has everything you could want in a running back. He can catch out of the backfield, he can run around guys, or he can run them over. After Mcfadden, I think its a toss up for the 2nd best NFL prospect. Ive heard Mendenhall compared to LT, obviously Im not saying hes as good as LT, but the comparisons have been made. Hes the real deal
  19. I hope he means it, I want him at U of I for a long time, but its going to be hard to pass up more prestigious jobs sooner or later. I really don't know about that based on both sides of the coin. The big name programs(looking in your direction Nebraska) have seen how things worked out for Zook at a big name school. Meyer won with Zook's team last year, but if you look at it superficially just at the records, I'm guessing Zook at UF doesn't come out much better than Callahan at Nebraska. Also, Zook saw how things worked out at a big name school, constantly under the microscope, BCS or you're fired. I think it works best for both sides(The big schools and Zook) that he stays put. I agree to a point, but money talks more often than not. I cant remember how much Zook is making at U of I, but Im sure its not top notch.
  20. Agreed. I really really wish Mendehall would stay, but he would be dumb too. He will probably be the 2nd or 3rd back taken.

  22. Is it bad that I smiled? Hopefully we mug his ass in a few weeks. :D :-"

  24. And pretty soon, neither will McNabb. I love how Andy Reid kept McNabb in there when the Eagles were down by 4 TD's instead of going with your rookie who needs the experience. Great move there, big guy. Forgive Andy hes had a rough week I like Andy a lot. I have a soft spot for all of those coaches that were part of Holmgren's amazing staff in the 90s. But still, that's the perfect time to get your rookie some in-game snaps. Yea it was I was basically just jokin around
