  1. You're being sarcastic, right? This year's draft is supposed to be totally stacked at the lottery positions. less sarcastic than ignorant I guess. is the assumption that all the freshmen this year (Gordon, Mayo, etc.) will come out? Yes Gordon Rose Mayo Love Beasley etc... seeing how much my two teams suck (DePaul/PSU) I haven't paid a ton of attention to those guys. I usually don't know about the "big names" until tourney time This draft is going to be very talented if all the freshman leave. Ive already said I would prefer the Bulls to tank the rest of the season to get a high draft pick because these kids coming out will be better than anybody on our roster.

  3. Michigan State has looked horrible early on, Im not sure Id pencil them in for a win against anybody right now.
  4. The staring slow thing just dosnt work this year. In years past when they have started slow they were getting beat by buzzer beaters and single digits. This year this team has had their asses handed to them on a nightly basis. This team lacks energy, and honestly looks like they have quit on Skiles. This is far far far different than years past.
  5. You're right. A 12 point loss in a game where Tebow couldn't run because of his shoulder and was sacked six times because of this. He's been sacked six times the entire rest of the season (!). Granted, the defense gave up 42 points, but the Gators would have scored 40 or so with a healthy Tebow, more than likely so the 12 point difference isn't very telling but keep pretending it is if you want. I'm going to need some explanation. The best baseball teams almost never win 60 percent of their games and the worst don't often win under 40. Meanwhile, in college football, there are normally plenty of two-loss or fewer teams and plenty of two-win or fewer teams. From what I've seen, college football, more than any other sport in America, is the most likely to have the better team win a game. Your on the right track. This quote is true: "From what I've seen, college football, more than any other sport in America, is the most likely to have the better team win a game." The problem is that wins and losses don't accurately measure which team is better. If you assume that the Gators are the number 2 team in the country, based on their schedule the most likely outcome is 2 losses. They would be expected to lose 2 games 32% of the time. They would be expected to lose 3 or more games 27.8% of the time! So they score 40 with Tebow they still lose by 2 And a two point loss tells us nothing. Absolutely nothing. It's means about the same as winning by two points... With you any Florida loss tells us nothing, and basically any SEC loss tells us nothing. Would you please tell me when a loss does mean something?

  7. DING DING DING we have a winner!
  8. good thing some guy in USA Today's rankings have no actual effect on the real world Except one of his polls is used for the BCS Computer rankings... Florida's top five in all scientific polls that involve SOS and score as well as other things. It should be certain that theyre one of the top five teams in the country. which of FLorida's 3 losses was your favorite? I prefer the 12 point loss at home to Georgia. Good stuff. Well the fact that you don't know that Georgia-Florida is a neutral site game pretty much nullifies your opinion. Good Stuff. Gainesville is a hell of a lot closer to Jacksonville than Athens is. I'd say that favors Florida. Details arent important.
  9. Because a loss is the only way to really judge a team. If said team is better than other team it should win. If they dont then they have no reason to bitch and moan about the system. The players know how the system works, if they dont want to be "wronged" then win your games plain and simple. To much in college football as it is right now is placed in the hands of writers and polls, when they should have the least to say in how things are. Play the games, if you lose, then you cant say you were wronged, or whatever.

You like that one better than the loss at home to unranked Auburn? Edit: looks like Andy's with me! Havent you guys learned that a loss in the SEC doesnt really count. Because well its the SEC. The SEC folks. SEC.
  11. Mizzou beat down WIU, while Kansas State struggled with them. I think its safe to say K State is overrated.
  12. Wise guy! What do you guys know of Locksley? Where is he from? I believe Locksley has ties to the DC area as he is one of the Illinis main recruiters for that area. He was very instrumental in getting Benn, and Vontae Davis to commit to the Illini, and at least 1 or 2 more in next years class. Not sure how he would do as a head coach, but hes definatly a good recruiter. I would hate for the Illini to lose him, but I think we would be fine. Here is his bio http://fightingillini.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/locksley_mike00.html
  13. Mizzou is gonna lose. I still believe Oklahoma and LSU are the 2 best teams. For all the talk about ugly wins, it has taken 6 OTs for LSUs 2 losses. I don't think OSU deserves a chance to play for the title, but WVU/Ohio St. would be HUGE in this area. Neighboring states. Everyone around here is a fan of one or the other. LSU has snuck by by the skin of their teeth week after week. They might be the best team, but they sure as hell havent played like it.
  14. Why would Kelley take a step down and coach Michigan or Notre Dame? How has that Syracuse football team been lately Cuse? By the way, I'd be furious if Michigan hired Ferentz, but it really wouldn't surprise me one bit. Hopefully bad enough to get a coach that isn't overwhelmed and confused. I've heard rumblings that Cuse may be looking at Illinois O-coordinator Locksley for HC. Have you heard anything about that? Why would Locksley want to take a step down? :D
  15. Apparently the Cardinals have lost their mind. This is from Jasyon Starks column Also this The Cardinals need to realize this isnt Rolen from 5-8 years ago. Hes a past his prime, injured 3rd baseman.
  16. Illini fans here is an article regarding Brandon Paul, 1 of our 2009 recruits. He has now been named the #1 player in Illinois in the 2009 class. http://www.ilprepbullseye.com/page30.html
  17. :D Im always up for a little Missouri hate.
  18. Eh, it's just habit at this point. Our student newspaper determined that the K in kU wasn't worthy of capitalization several years ago, and it just stuck. I find it more likely that people from Missouri just didnt know that proper names were supposed to be capitalized. :D
  19. Flip Mizzou and WVU and you'll have it. There is no way that West Virginia should be ahead of us right now. Wasn't WVU already #3 and Missou #4? Yeah, they were barely ahead of us in the BCS rankings. But we just beat the #2 team and WVU beat the #20 team. We're going to be at ranked number one. Wow, I can't believe I'm saying that. Dont get used to it, cause it will only last about a week. OU by 10
  20. Gordon struggled, battled foul trouble...and still had 20. IU, on the other hand, as a team stunk. Yea Im just messing around. Im glad you can take it, and not get all bent out of shape. The IU-UI rivalry is fun. Yea Gordon still had 20, but 12 of those were on free throws. Was he just cold today, or did Xavier do something defensively to throw him off that other teams hadnt done?
  21. Its not just in the clutch that Kirk sucks in. The guy has had a free ride his entire time in Chicago, and hes average at best(below average this year). The Bulls had 27 points at halftime! Like you said Deng not playing is no excuse. Skiles and Paxson have prided themselves in a deep bench, so they should be able to overcome Deng not playing, especially against the New York Knicks.
  22. Really? Couldnt tell at all.
  23. Deng didn't play though And they were playing the Knicks, Deng not playing is not an excuse. This team is done for the year. Just tank this season and get one of the studs in the draft, this team is going nowhere.
  24. Impressive game from IU and Gordon.... =D>
