  1. Why do we need left handed relief help when we already have Cotts and Eyre?
  2. When did Ronny clear waivers and get sent down? wat? Ooops I didnt see the "or higher" in his post. I read it as the only players we have in AAA. Quiet I have been up since 6 pm yesterday :-"
  3. And what exactly would we do with Guillen?
  4. Wuertz? He's had plenty of weekends off, and weekdays, and extended rest. This whole "Wuertz never gets used" thing is something of a myth, or at the very least waaaaayyyyy overblown. He has 37 appearances on the year. Compare that to Howry, who has 43 appearances. And considering that we're about 15 weeks into the baseball season now, that means that over the course of about 2 and a half weeks, Howry is getting into a game about once more than Wuertz. And 37 appearances in 92 games (roughly 40% of games) hardly qualifies as letting him "rot" on the bench. Look at his gamelogs and look at how much time there is between appearances in the month of June. There is a 10 day rest, then a 4 days rest following the 1 appearance, then he pitched in 2 consecutive games, then there is a 6 day rest followed by 2 appearances, then a 4 days rest, then pitched in 1 game. He then sits 7 days leading up to yesterdays game. Shouldnt be surprising that he wouldnt have his best stuff after a 7 day rest dont you think? Weurtz hasnt pitched in a role, and has sat for long periods of time this year. Even though hes been putting up better numbers than Bob Howry, whos longest stretch of not pitching was 5 games back in April and May.
  5. When did Ronny clear waivers and get sent down?
  6. Hey Brett, you know how you could really stick it to the Packers?......DA Bears :D
  7. But he continues to rack up the innings for Howry who has been getting hit harder than Brett Myers wife. Aaaaaaaand, quoted I think you mean sig'd but you did quote it as well :good:
  8. Meh it hit around his elbow area there should be plenty of meat around there to soften it a little
  9. Thats ok that means Marshall is in, and we are better off with that happening.
  10. OK the ump is going to piss me off today with his slow ass strike calls
  11. They are most likely just waiting to activate Soriano after the ASB. I don't think you'll see 13 pitchers past this next 3 games. I understand that, but Lou was talking about it on the pregame, and it just sounded ridiculous since he is the manager and can set the roster how he sees fit.
  12. Fontenot, yes. And considering his experience there lasted what, a couple innings, last year, I doubt Lou sees him as an option. DeRosa, maybe, although one might think he'd have played there more before if Lou considers him viable there. If you do that though, you have to be prepared to say goodbye to Cedeno. He's out of options, and while he's not much right now, if Theriot falls off a cliff/gets seriously hurt, there's no one else in the system besides him that would play there for an extended stretch. Yea I forgot about Fontenots stint at SS last year. On Cedeno, I really dont know what to do with him. He started out the year so good, and then has struggled trying to be bench player. Im in the same camp as everyone else though, our biggest "need" is for a power bat off the bench, because having Cedeno, Johnson, and Blanco as your RH side of the bench doenst put much fear into anybody. You can't get rid of Cedeno and he was good enough in AAA the last 2 times he's been there and the week that he got consistent starts in MLB this year that he'd be gone the second he hit waivers. I like Blake a lot, and I'd probably get rid of one of the RPs. With both Lieber and Gaudin, I think we have enough guys that can eat innings and we can shuffle a few guys over the next several weeks if we burn through the bullpen. Although, if we have Fontenot, who's hit pretty well off the bench, do we need Ward? Yea I wasnt advocating getting rid of Cedeno(See the sig). I just really dont see him getting his chance to play with the Cubs though.
  13. Ok, Lou, you say you dont like using pitchers to pinch hit, so why the hell do you have 13 pitchers on your team? You are the manager, you can tell Hendry to get another bat up here
  14. I doubt it, I think SSR is right on in his guess.
  15. We have other relievers who have been stuggling worse and for a far longer stretch than Wuertz.
  16. And this is the reason I was so happy my son was born a lefty.

  18. Are Fontenot and DeRo that bad defensively at SS that they couldnt slide there for a start here and there?
  19. Looks like Mesa was rained out today. ](*,)
