  1. Ok this is my 1st time seeing Rich Harden pitch that I can recall, and color me impressed wow
  2. Lets completely ignore the pressures put on a 18 year old kid being drafted #1, and labled as the next big thing. Sure he made the choice to use the drugs, but he also had a hell of alot of pressure put on him especially as an 18 year old kid.
  3. I would really have no problem with Harden just showing bunt everytime he comes to the plate and never swinging
  4. Another good Ab for Fontenot and we get to roll the lineup over. Nice
  5. Thanks Raisin keep the good news coming
  6. We've got double Rich action today. Lets go Hill, we are pulling for ya. JIMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYY
  7. Damm you are smart, I feel like Steve Stone :D
  8. Can't be. That would mean Stone was wrong about Harden's fastball losing velocity. Stone can't be wrong. Stone has been wrong, but he's also right a hell of a lot more than people around here give him credit for. Hes not right near as much as he thinks he is.
  9. Damn Ricky Nolasco is putting up some real good numbers for Florida this year
  10. So whos pitching for the Cubs today I havent heard?
  11. But again why do we need somebody in the pen who can go multiple innings when we have 3 long men in the pen right now?
  12. Id have no problem with Murton going to Tampa. Tampa is an easy team to root for, and with Murton on there just makes it even better.
  13. I have $100 on them winning over 89 this year. Looks to be in good shape. Shhhhhhhh :D
  14. Glad to see Fontenot in there. He should remain in the lineup until Sori is back in my opinion. Hes been putting together alot of quality AB's lately, and somehow has more HR's this month than anyone else on our team. That is an amazing stat.
  15. Funny how you dont mention what lefties are hitting against Wuertz. And if it was a nagging injury then put him on the DL, you dont send him to AAA to continue pitching. And why would Hart being able to throw more innings mean anything? We already have 3 long men in the bullpen. Wuertz is and has been a better option than Kevin Hart. I would agree that Wuertz is a better option overall, but neither one was going to pitch this weekend unless an emergency happened, and Hart is a fresher option for such an emergency. He'll be sent right back down over the break for Eyre. It will be interesting what the Cubs plan to do about this pitching situation though. They want Harden to get the extra day as much as possible, and even skip some of his starts. So I imagine they'll want Marshall to take a turn or two in the rotation occasionally in order to push Harden back. Do they keep Marshall on the major league roster for that purpose? Do they play the shuttle with him and two relievers? Since each reliever has to stay down for 10 days, they would need at least 2 to do the shuttle correctly. They could bring Marshall up and send reliever 1 down. Then after that game, they send Marshall right back down and bring reliever 2 up. 10 days later, Marshall comes back and starts again, replacing reliever 2. Then after the game, reliever 1 comes back and replaces Marshall. I don't think they know yet what they're planning to do though. Harts fresher than Wuertz? Wuertz just had 7 days off going into Thursdays home run derby, Im not sure how Hart is fresher than Wuertz when Hart has been starting and throwing alot more pitches. Also Wuertz is alot more acclimated to pitching out of the pen than Kevin Hart. Like you said though, it will be interesting to see how they handle the pitching situation. Personally I want Marshall back at AAA when Eyre comes back so he can stay stretched out in case of an injury, or a Marquis implosion.
  16. I'm more worried about Bay being a Cardinal for the future. This year, I'd love for them to go crazy on rentals and lose one of Anderson or Rasmus, but I don't like them improving their team long-term. Yea I can understand it from that perspective. However like you said Id love to see them lose Anderson and/or Rasmus. Speaking long term though, that team still will have questions. Glaus isnt a long term guy, Izturis isnt either, Kennedy or Miles dont scare anyone, Ankiel is a free agent after next year, LF is a revolving door of unknowns, and who knows if this is the real Ryan Ludwick, or a career year? Their rotation will have Wainwright, Carp(who knows how good), and others. So while the Cards have shown this year they can hang around, I think they are still a quite a long way away from being legit contenders for a WS.
  17. Mesa has its game at 1:30 Eastern, 12:30 Central. All games in the minor league forum are listed by what time the game starts in the time zone they are playing in. Ahh ok thanks CCP
  18. Funny how you dont mention what lefties are hitting against Wuertz. And if it was a nagging injury then put him on the DL, you dont send him to AAA to continue pitching. 19. Am I the only one who could really care less if the Cardinals trade for Bay? Their bullpen still isnt very good, and their starting pitching is still very very unlikely to continue doing what theyve done this far. Welly has already came back down to earth, their number 5 spot in the rotation is a revolving door, Looper isnt very good, and Pinerio isnt either. The Cards are basing ALL their hope on getting Carp and Wainwright back. Kinda like how us Cubs fans have based all our hope on Wood and Prior in years past. I know Wood and Prior have much longer injury history than Wainwright, but the idea that Cards fans keep hoping for Carp to hurry up is a joke. Carp is coming off TJ surgery, hes not going to just slide back into the rotation this year and be Cy Young caliber. Odds are better that he will have a few shining moments, but he will also have alot of disaster starts while trying to regain velocity, and command which is usually the last thing you get back after TJ surgery.
  20. Tampa Bay would make alot of sense for both of them.
  21. So Mesa starts in 10 mins right? Any word on if Rich is pitching or not?
  22. Check out ESPN's schedule page. They show FOX hosting a double headers worth of games. Maybe the change happened too late for my local cable company to get it into their schedule? And yeah, once again, MLB EI won't be showing any games today until late. Yea this is a CSN game, Fox is not showing this game, which sucks for all you out of towners.
  23. Bradley is still putting up close to a .900 OPS away from home. Sure Arlington is helping, but Bradley would be a great addition to any offense plain and simple.
