because apparently soriano is one of those cats that needs "special" treatment. he is used to being told hours before the fact that he isn't going to play. to show up and be notified at game time is beneath him. i wouldn't want to play with a guy like that. How do you know Lou hasnt told him that if he was going to give him the next day off hed tell him before hand? Lou has always done it in the past with Soriano, and now he decides not to. Why? Not saying Soriano has a right to be pissed, but we dont know the whole story of what Lou has told Soriano would be protocol with something like this.

I dont know I dont want to see Halladay a Cardinal, but their problem hasnt been pitching, its offense like ours. And I think we have proven enough this year that no matter how good your pitching is, it really doesnt matter if you cant score runs. Also, Id be all for Stl emptying their system for Halladay, and then signing him to an extension, with the majority of their payroll would be locked up in Pujols and Halladay. Wouldnt be ideal, but it wouldnt be a killer for the Cubs either.

Carp is scheduled to start Saturday vs. Lilly. Not according to the Trib http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-09-cubs-bits-chicago-jul09,0,4562524.story Trib probably used the ESPN listings which has Carpenter pitching Friday. I've found that the MLB.com starting pitcher matchups tend to be a lot more accurate and they have Thompson going on Friday Carpenter on Saturday. Not saying that it's for sure correct, this is just something I've noticed. Yea I just figured since Carp would be on regular rest that LaRussa may want to start him in the opener and try getting that 1st win of the series. Who knows.

Are you sure its Thompson starting? Ive seen it a couple places that Carp is starting.

Thanks for posting that. Ronnie was amazing. I remember how he would be on after the Bulls on the Chicago postgame show. First how the Bulls did and then the Fields highlights. Yup the kid is probably the best high school player Ive ever seen play. Had it not been for that carwreck, the sky was really the limit for him. That Farragut team was ridiculous with him and KG. I really wish he would at least get a taste of the NBA, after all hes been through, it would be a good story.
