  1. This makes no sense. Unless it's for off the field stuff. Are players allowed to go out drinking on the road? I don't know the protocol on that, but mentioned that I had friends while he was in Mobile who met him at a bar and he bought her and her friends drinks all night? Perhaps too much partying? So its your fault then. If you wouldnt have posted about that here then this [expletive] would have never happened to Jay Jack. Damnit can we just shut this board down so we dont effect anymore trades or demotions?
  2. Probably hiding in his cataclysm-proof bunker from the fallout from this historically bad trade. In his defense at the time there were grumblings it was gonna be a deal involving Jackson for Grabow who the Pirates were asking top prospects form other organizations for. No reason to try defending him because it wouldnt have mattered what the grumblings were, he would have been here posting the same [expletive] like he always does. The Cubs suck, Hendry is dumb and sucks, etc... Hes a broken record
  3. And the coke dealers of Chicago are jumping for joy with the possibility.
  4. If we dont score 12 runs in this game Im going to be pissed.
  5. And Jay Jackson officially demoted to Daytona. Arrrgh. This makes no sense.
  6. Makes me wonder if we're getting a bat later. Although I have to admit, after watching the Cubs put up 24 runs in the last two games it seems kind of silly to want a bat. It never hurts to have a stronger bench. Especially with the injuries this team has had this year.
  7. That doesn't preclude him from being the 5th starter. The Cubs would want to wait to activate him until directly before his start (since he wouldn't be needed for the next 4 games). It might still be Marshall, or Samardijza, or somebody else starting, but it also could very well be Gorzelanny. Yea thats true as well. I have a hard time believing Lou is going to put Marshall back in the rotation, and Shark hasnt impressed, so my guess is Gorzo is the 5th starter, unless we get someone else before tomorrow, who is then moved to the pen when Lilly gets back.
  8. :flame: The bad thing is, Im half assed serious about it, but I know it wont happen.
  9. Lets move Cashner to the rotation until Lilly gets back, and then move him to the pen. (ducks)
  10. I second that one. I actually think that with a little command improvement, Hart could be a pretty good one. Yea but its not like Hart is some real young kid. Hes 26 and command has always been a problem for him. He may be an ok #5 starter for a team like the Pirates, but I doubt he becomes much more than that.
  11. Please explain how Nolasco is like dirty diapers? Im waiting in great anticipation for your response.
  12. You said career. He's pretty even for both. You are right I did say career, I still think he can be useful, and in my opinion it helps our pen if it means Marshall starts pitching to more than 1 batter a game. It also means Shark/Atkins are not in the pen, and hopefully pushes Heilman to only pitch in blowouts as we would have Guz, Marshall, Marmol, Grabow, and Gregg at the backend.
  13. Exactly, if Fox was involved they would have pulled him. I swear people dont think sometimes Or they could be waiting until the game is over. If a trade is done or pretty close to being done, they pull the guy during the game so he doesnt get hurt.
  14. How will he be a loogy though when he's better against righties? We acquired the wrong left-handed reliever. Grabow in his career has been better vs leftys Not really, he's fairly mediocre against both. The last 3 years hes held leftys to a 652 OPS against, thats better than mediocre

  16. :rotfl: Good call, and yes I felt this needed bumped for all the [expletive] Fuku has taken from Cubs fans
  17. He's for a team like Philly so that Marshall can face the heart of their order one time through the lineup and Grabow if they come around again. My guess is that Marshall would start pitching more full innings and Grabow would be more of the LOOGY who might only face 1-2 batters. It's an upgrade for the Cubs in matching up with certain clubs but it's also more of a luxury than a need so they hopefully didn't spend very much for him. Exactly CCP. Also, Grabow is an upgrade over Shark/Atkins down there. As long as we dont give up anyone in our top 10, Id be ok with the deal. Him being a Type A doesnt hut either.
  18. I doubt it, I mean they are facing the reincarnation of the 27 Yankees,

  20. how do you find this out? Its mentioned in the blurb on mlbtraderumors.com
  21. According to mlbtr Cubs get Grabow, no word on for who. And I never would have guessed Grabow is ranked as a Type A free agent
  22. Damn Grabow is ranked as a Type A free agent, I would have never guessed that
