I think Wells will go as long as possible. Hart pitching tomorrow means you have to have someone fresh down there. I say Wells goes 6 or 7 and Atkins finishes it out. There is really no better time to pitch Atkins than in a 9-0 game. Plus, with an off day for the rest of the bullpen today, there should be some fresh arms I agree Atkins will probably see action in this game, but I doubt they shorten Wells up at all. You know how Lou gets panicky and if Atkins comes in and gives up 3 or 4 runs in say the 7th inning, Lou will feel he has to use someone else. With that said, this all wont matter if our offense quits sucking and puts up more than only 2 runs per inning. :D

Pretty easy to be efficient when you are throwing meatballs over the middle of the plate. Its either going to get hit hard and be a basehit or hit hard right at someone

I think it's as simple as neither Gaub or Parker are on the 40-man roster while Atkins is. But dont we have spots open on the 40 man? Yes, but they likely don't want to burn an option on either. Yea kind of what I figured.

Ive got to believe Victor Martinez is the next to go, as they got a good catching prospect from Philly. Martinez could probably get them a couple more young talented arms.

The Cards have been so lucky in that series so far, Im expecting Pinerio to give up 15 hits thru 6 and not give up a run, while Stl gets no hit thru 6 but score 3 runs somehow.

At first I was going to say that he's going to have a short day and get knocked out early, but then I forgot about how many innings the Astro bullpen has thrown the last two days. Who did they call up for Hawkins? And is he available today? They called up their #2 pitching prospect, and they activated someone off the DL.
