  1. I really dont like Soriano getting a day off right now with how hot hes been. It was fine giving him those days off when he was sucking, but Id rather ride this hot streak. Although I do partially understand tonights a good night with his 0-9 career vs Volsted.
  2. How does it feel to be the Pirates? :-))
  3. Why? Why not? Because we have one of the best rotations in baseball, Peavy would have cost the Cubs some of our top prospects, and Peavy is owed a crapload of money, and coming off a pretty significant injury?
  4. http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/07/bears_fill_a_roster_spot_by_si.html Helllllllllllllo SUPER BOWL! YES!
  5. Unless the trade was actually agreed to by the deadline and simply awaiting approval from the commissioner it ain't happening. Halladay would not clear waivers. Mr Obvious
  6. Yea but whos going to score runs for them?
  7. Why not? Yea I dont see why Cubs fans should be upset about it.
  8. Meh, who cares, and it helps us as we still have games remaining vs San Diego. Isn't he out until Sept? Cubs play the Padres by then anyway. I thought he was coming back fairly soon.

  10. Maybe hes realized staying in SD is pointless, sees how close the Sox are to the playoffs, and thinks he can make a difference. Early on in the season when the deal was made nobody really knew if the Sox would contend or not.
  11. Jayson Stark says something is brewing with the Angels regarding Halliday............
  12. 309 huh, not 305 or 310, but specifically 309. Umm thats odd
  13. Another poster that seems to know our minor league system quite well, sweet. Welcome aboard
  14. Marshall has been terrific in the pen.. how exactly is Lou misusing him? By using him to face 1 batter, and then removing him from the game. Although getting Grabow should eliminate that trend.
  15. This is what I was hoping to hear. Gorzelanny is a guy whose MLB numbers should've been better given his minor league history, and hearing that his velocity/stuff is where it was during his best season(also the only season he showed some of the control he had in the minors) is encouraging as well. I like him very much as rotation depth going forward. Grabow when looking beyond a small sample seems to be reasonably effective against LH hitters, which is all I really need since Marshall will be upgrading the rotation and the rest of our pen is good enough to face all but the most platoony LH hitters. Grabow is also on track to be Type A, although he makes a bit too much to possibly risk getting stuck with him in arbitration. Marshall isnt going to the rotation from everything Ive read.
  16. Urlacher interviewed about the whole thing, and he says everything is fine, "but I did call him(Cutler) on the phone, and say whats up [expletive]" .
