  1. I think it just assumes anyone listening to Elliot Smith is dealing with rejection.
  2. So you're saying he's going to be a cardinal, a blue jay or an oriole?
  3. So what do you think about Baez? Good or nah?
  4. Robble robble outfielders, robble robble skimask, robble robble temperature, robble robble warm up, robble robble dongalicious.
  5. I haven't read the rest of the thread, but I have to say short bench is hurting us.
  6. I will be at this game, and hopefully the other two in the series. Unfortunately, the lack of Jason Heyward will probably limit the number of swastikas I am able to find. I will, however, try to post the most rednecky thing I am able to find. To be fair though, I don't know which fondling couples are brother and sister.
  7. glad to have the extra bat. batting pitchers in extra inning games is dumb.
  8. Who? Trevor Wood. /JD
  9. I have a 3 week old. "Son, it may not seem like a big deal now that the Cubs have won 7 out of the last 10 World Series, but I promise you, it was huge back in 2016." Eta: hammel in a 9-0 win over the Reds. Eta: my son, not me.
  10. I love NSBB!
  11. I get what you are saying, but I don't see Bryce becoming a 1b anytime soon. I just think Bryce is the better hitter and that ages better. Bryce was slightly better last year. They are pretty close this year so far. As a side note, Trout is already a pretty average defensive CF. Most of his positive dWAR comes from his play on the corners. They are the two best players of this generation. Like I said, I'm not sure there is really a wrong answer but I'd take Harper moving forward. Edit- maybe I'm an idiot with dWAR but the biggest difference between the two players is the positional adjustment between Trout who mostly plays cf and Harper who mostly plays RF. Their numbers prior to the adjustment are not that far apart. Bryce in a very limited sample has also held up fine in CF. I'm not sure the defensive gap between the two of them is as large as their dWAR suggests. JMO, Harper could handle CF if a franchise threw him out there everyday. ---- I wonder if there's a "where there is smoke there is fire" situatuon brewing with Trout? I do not think that idiom means what you think it means.
  12. Unless you are willing to carry 24 for a maybe, no. Aside: Quick glance is that median salaries are lower than I suggested but Cs are still cheaper than the others. He's saying Ross is not on the 25 man roster. Then schwarbers rehab goes bad, and Contreras gets hurt, then you add Ross to the 25 man (and ostensibly the 40 man). I would think that it would take a 60 day dl stint to 2 of Montero, schwarber, and Contreras to make it cross Theos mind. Cubfro should be banned for thinking such perverse thoughts.
  13. Bingo. I somehow missed where raw action non-committedly mused on trading Montero, and I was having trouble understanding why people were even talking about it. You take what you get from Ross and don't expect anything but him making Lester happy. The real question is: what happens to Lester next year? Will he be happy with Contreres? Montero? Schwarber? Do you pick up a defensive specialist in the offseason? Questions for another day, I suppose.
  14. Why can't I give more than one post love to this perfect post?
  15. I hope you used the wrong preposition here.
  16. All joking aside, I really do think Heyward and Soler both warm up with the weather.
  17. HR/FB ratios are not crazy predictive. Soler's has a decent chance of going up, especially when the wind blows out. And he's not cold. The man is freezing. Give the man a freaking parka!
  18. Did he ever develop another pitch? #onepitchrich
  19. Warm day today= outfielders get it going. Dongs by Soler and Heyward. Somebody post that chart again, plz Wow, I take it back. Usually Chicago is 5-10 degrees cooler than my location. High here today is 82, 58 in Chicago.
