  1. Lost or Blackhawks? Lost or Blackhawks? Lost or Blackhawks??!?!?!!! :-k
  2. Yes. Highest remaining seed plays lowest remaining seed.
  3. I'm just dead inside. I've turned into sulley mode, fully expecting them to lose no matter what.
  4. Teams score on fluke dump ins that happen to bounce awkwardly and barely go into the net on a weird angle in every playoff series? Fluky goals happen in every playoff series.
  5. One too many moves. No doubt which team is more skilled here.
  6. Nashville was sending in two forecheckers a lot. I don't know if that's baiting the Hawks into the breaks or just risking them.
  7. If he's getting the strike calls because of who he is, and not because he's lucky, then that's part of his ability as a pitcher, fair or not. No it is not. It's part of his value as a pitcher, then. However you want to say it. It's an attribute that you gain the benefit of when Greg Maddux is on your team.

  9. Remember how we were talking about in the Blackhawks thread how there's a ton of variance in the NHL playoffs? Not as much as baseball, but way more than football or basketball? Yeah.
  10. Mostly I just hate Jeff Samardzija.
  11. I'd like to think that being a good pitcher in your most recent amateur stop should be a basic prerequisite of being a professional pitcher.
  12. Sorry. I don't want this organization wasting time with guys who weren't even good at pitching in college. hate to break it to you, a lot of our minor leaguers weren't that good at pitching in college. and samardzija wasn't really a bad college pitcher. if we have room for j.r. mathes, brian schlitter and mike parisi on iowa's roster then we certainly have room for samardzija. Maybe we should stop doing that.

  14. He's not worth a minor-league roster spot. Is that a good reason?
  15. I feel like I'm stuck in an infinite loop. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_loop#Infinite_recursion
  16. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler%27s_fallacy sustaining a season-ending injury in the first game of the season is pretty much outrageously unlucky in itself. hell, sustaining a season-ending injury at any time during a season is fairly unlucky. just based on the odds, and completely eliminating the outcome of past seasons to be the predictor (which of course is the correct course of action), he'd have to be unlucky for it to happen to him this year. Only if you assume that being injured is an independent random event. That's not completely true.
  17. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler%27s_fallacy I'm sticking with the optimism, fallacy and all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bias_blind_spot
  18. A 2b with above-average range catches it on a jog.
  19. Something is definitely wrong with Lee's right hand.
