It's a sliding scale that depends on how good he is. I want to see good peripherals: BB rates high, K rates manageable, etc. Also, I really wish we hadn't sent Samardzija out for the ninth in his last game. He's gassed early today.

No matter what happens in the fifth, I wouldn't mind that being it for Samardzija. Nine-run games are made for mop-up relievers and saving the starter's arm.

He's been excellent. 9 batters faced, 3 K, 6 balls in play (none line drives iirc), no HR, no BB. Just had three of those six be ground ball singles.

Anything is possible, I guess, but LaHair would be brutal in LF. We'll probably just ship him out for whatever we can get.
