  1. The throw to Moore early in the drive didn't super impress me, it was his first read and there was no one within 8 yards of him. The timing and read on the Claypool TD was pretty nice though.
  2. lol. Dead cat bounce drive from Fields.
  3. I think Orton had a better arm but basically yeah.
  4. omg that's going to be *amazing*. The only limiting factor is that once teams get ahead they stop throwing. If Mahomes kept the pedal down for a whole four quarters against this defense, he could throw for 700 yards.
  5. I think he could be a "not actually good but capable of masquerading as a low-end starter for a while" guy.
  6. Clean pass breakup from Kmet. "Sabotage mode" is the theme of the season
  7. Random positive: I feel like the interior defensive line is winning more than they're losing today.
  8. When they said they were going to take the north they meant most of them will be employed by the CFL within a few years.
  9. I'm not a big fan of reading body language and facial expressions, and maybe I'm wildly wrong, but this whole team looks ready to give up and move on with their careers.
  10. yeah that's gotta be overturned
  11. Tyrique Stevenson having an all-time bad game. Tampa Bay has a read on him and they're saving it for key moments.
  12. Remember in the old tecmo bowl for NES where you could just back up in the backfield forever and use up the entire clock in one play? That's what would happen if Fields ever played the Bears defense. Him hopping in place for 15 minutes while the defense never actually gets there.
  13. My mental rule is that once a football player over 28 (non-QB) has a lower body injury, they're 50/50 at best to make it through future seasons.
  14. It's like the Cubs curse. It *will* break eventually, you just have to keep firing shots.
  15. A little thing, but the "moving toward pressure in the pocket" is back after he cleaned it up last year. It's like having too many swing thoughts in golf. You can give him one clear direction to think about like "move away from the pressure" or "throw the checkdown when you don't see anything", but none of it is instinctual and once he's thinking about one he loses the others.
  16. A better QB than Baker Mayfield would have put up 28 points that half. Defense was actually worse than the offense. Offense had some flashes. Not good enough, not enough to change my mind about them long-term, but not completely worthless.
  17. The Bears QB Bust cycle 1) He's just a rookie, we just need to see improvement week to week 2) That coach is an idiot. Once we bring in a new coach, watch him take off. 3) You can't count this season against him, he's got a new coach and is learning a new offense. It's basically his second rookie year. 4) He's got no help. We need to focus on the surrounding cast in the offseason. 5) Really? All the problems are still there? <--- we are here 6) OK he's hurt this week, let's see what the backup has. Wow, not terrible, we have a QB controversy on our hands. 7) Draft a new QB and give this coach one more chance his rookie year, then fire the coach and bring in a new one. Then a year later fire the GM so the new GM has a legacy coach and QB to work with.
  18. I said last year we'd started the Bears QB Bust Cycle, and we're almost there. The last thing left is for Fields to get some sort of injury, something relatively minor but enough to keep him out of a game or two, and Bagent comes in and Ortons. Not good, but *just* different enough to start a full-blown QB controversy.
  19. What's funny is that I still think there's a decent chance we win this game.
  20. Exactly what he's been doing his entire carer.
  21. And there's the old missed short throw from Fields. Playing all the hits. Hop hop hop hop hop fumble
  22. That was a great play by the Bucs defender after a *really* good throw from Fields.
  23. There's still time to salvage it if you pick the right QB with one of the two picks next season.
