    I know you're the ultimate Fields-can-never-fail-only-be-failed guy in these parts, but did you really not see all the non-screen checkdowns in the first half?

    It looks like that because Fields was incapable of processing and making throws downfield. A better QB would have chosen to throw deep a lot more often.

    I like Poles' approach to building draft value. We've got double firsts each of the next two drafts and a good cap situation. I am suspicious of what he's trying to build with them, but I like the value approach.

    I've been saying since the beginning that I like Poles' approach (accumulating draft value, letting go of veterans) but I hate what he's been building toward. I think you have to give him a chance to draft his own QB though.

    He had the one slant to Moore and a decent gain on a rollout in the first. That's the only ones downfield successfully I can remember besides the TD.

    NFL defenses are pretty good. You're not going to consistently get guys visibly wide open. You have to throw to leverage
