  1. To be fair, before today, the Cubs really would have been better off with one of us taking Lillibridge's PAs.
  2. I want to answer that but Tim gets cranky when I talk about Epstein's motivation levels.
  3. Despite his best efforts, something good happened during a Lillibridge at-bat. Still 0-18 though.
  4. Very nice pitch from Feldman to end the inning.
  5. Defense going strong already. Good day to get a foul ball, though. Empty as you would imagine for this team for this sort of weather on an April weekday afternoon game.
  6. As much as I enjoy all the Lillibridge bashing, in the long run he is still better than Gonzalez.
  7. i can recall several instances of MLB hitters angrily walking to the mound wielding their bat after a HBP and getting minimal if any penalty for it afterward There's a difference between having a bat already in your hand from legitimate purposes versus going and getting one.
  8. What the hell is #want? It's a running joke with the BP prospects podcast. "Want" is basically baseball hipster shorthand for "desire," "drive," or "motivation."
  9. This franchise is incapable of a normal day.
  10. OK, apparently the bases were loaded, with Soler at first. There was a DP. Soler had words with the 2b. Baez charges over and has to be restrained. Baseball "brawl" ensues (probably just a bunch of standing around jawing at each other). Then when it seems about calmed down, Soler comes flying out of the dugout with a bat.
  11. Someone needs to explain to him that he's not white enough to get away with that in Chicago.
  12. holy [expletive] Sure it wasn't Baez? That feels like something Baez would do.
  13. Candelario has also had the reports that he showed up in crazy good shape this year. Very excited to see if he can have a breakout year.
  14. Nah, he'll be fine. And a walk today, too!
  15. There's no mandatory number of posts that must be made to continue posting on NSBB. It would be awesome if there were.
  16. It seems like every time I see him, he's working at 89-90, but then when I miss his inning I'll check back later and PitchFX has him touching 95. He's averaging 91.89mph on his fastball this year, so I can work with that.
  17. You will take the time to apologize. I'm sorry, David.
  18. That's assuming the bunt is successful. You have to take into account the odds of the player failing to get the bunt down and getting himself out for nothing, vs. the defense botching the bunt and letting him on base.
