  1. Clevenger to 60-day DL. Kameron Loe claimed off waivers from Seattle.
  2. Lillibridge as a 25th man is also pretty bad. He's unquestionably a subreplacement player. In theory, he should never be on an MLB roster for any reason. In practice? He should be no more than your 7th infielder stashed at AAA.
  3. Come now, the last one is a silly thing to hope for. (Well, I guess Cabrera has some potential to emerge as a "major" rotational prospect; no one else at AA or AAA has that potential and we knew that before the season began.) Look, if I've apparently got this power to imbue Cubs prospects with the ability to disprove my worries and doubts, I've got to use it to maximum advantage, even if I'm asking for something tough.
  4. The Cubs are really bad because of things Theo Epstein does, and few of the cool things he promised are actually happening. These things practically file themselves. I find your sig appropriate to my half of the conversation.
  5. OK, Baez's approach, Soler's attitude and the lack of a major prospect emerging in the upper-level rotations. *comeononetime*
  6. The Cubs are really bad because of things Theo Epstein does, and few of the cool things he promised are actually happening.
  7. It opens up a spot for Barney, which means we get to keep Lillibridge. Hooray! It's not your fault, but I hate you for pointing it out.
  8. 19 MILLION AND YOU CAN'T EVEN HUSTLE TO FIRST YOU BUM ARBGLE GARBLE
  9. All those walks are nice. I'm going let that one go and to move on to being concerned about Vogelbach's power, Baez's approach and Soler's attitude.
  10. There we go! Win this game, Cubs. I know it's a long season, but 5-6 is so much better than 4-7.
  11. Pat Hughes is gonna lose it before this season is over.
  12. I rode a train once. Hmm. Well, more useful than a big list of names, I guess.
  13. Castro's gotten away with a lot of "not quite errors" this season.
  14. So he's worse after 80 pitches? Like every other pitcher ever. Thanks for the contribution Kyle Happy to help.
  15. I kind of like that Lillibridge started to get the reputation among Cubs fans early in the spring as being good at defense, based on the old "well, his offense is so bad, he must be." @#%@#%$@#R If you hurt Starlin Castro, Lillibridge, I will just lose it.
  16. Hmm. Samardzija losing his command after 80 pitches again.
  17. Except him continuing to be terrible isn't funny. It's dark humor.
  18. I'm trying to steer the conversation back to something interesting.
  19. Just going off of the first name on the list, Roger Bernadina has six MLB seasons for 2.2 fWAR, only one of those seasons being under replacement. Brent Lillibridge has six MLB seasons for -1.5 fWAR, and only one of those seasons wasn't below replacement. Lumping them into the same generic category of "bad" is an attempt to gloss over what a bad decision having Lillibridge be our 6th infielder was.
  20. That's what they always say at this point in the injury process. Sometimes it's true, but the fact that they said it doesn't really change anything for me.
  21. That's certainly a lot of names, most of whom I think are noticeably better than Brent Lillibridge. I'm not entirely sure what the point was, but I can't deny the sheer quantity of names.
