  1. He's underthrown a couple of deep balls, but he's also made some *really* good throws on shorter routes. I'm not disagreeing that he's bad, though.
  2. Bagent makes a medium number of bad decisions and has underthrown several deep balls today. I still suspect he's the best QB on the roster, such as it is.
  3. Philadelphia won a super bowl without forcing a single punt.
  4. It's crazy how good NFL kickers have gotten over the last 20 years.
  5. Disagree. You can and must win shootouts in the modern nfl.
  6. I think this defense is capable of looking decent against mediocre or worse QBs and gets picked apart by good ones.
  7. Poles' draft picks spent in the secondary are not giving appropriate value.
  8. Yeah. I just ... don't hate it. And I love hating things. He doesn't make me wanna not draft a QB next season. But gun to my head, I think he might be the best QB on the roster right now.
  9. I continue to like Bagent as a proof of concept of all the things Fields doesn't do, more than I like him as an actual starter on his own.
  10. That third down throw to Moore was a fantastic example of throwing a WR open rather than waiting for him to be open.
  11. I'd be glad to nitpick some specific plays from Bagent, but I don't see what I'm supposed to not like overall.
  12. Lotta worse teams than the Chargers left on our schedule.
  13. I wondered if they might try something like that on the first play. I like it. I also liked that third down throw from Bagent. Thought he cost Patrick the second hold by holding the ball too long. We're missing the safeties more than I thought we would.
  14. I thought we got win-scouting QBs out of our system with Tebow. I didn't see what he apparently did at the end to be magic because I turned it off after he took a miserable sack on 4th down and I assumed the Giants would kneel it out. But he sure looked awful in the part of the game I watched.
  15. Jets are kind of an interesting bears comp. Their defense was brutal under saleh the first year, even worse than Bears last year. Started to turn it around a few games into year 2, again like bears this year.
  16. As good as place as any to talk about former nhler Adam Johnson dying yesterday for having his throat sliced by a skate blade on the ice. It's a miracle these things don't happen more often. I'll be digging the throat guard out of my closet.
  17. I turned off jets giants after Wilson ate a completely avoidable sack on 4th and 10 under two minutes to go. No idea how they got the ball back to send it to ot.
  18. They're absolutely capable of playing themselves out of the bottom 2. There's a very plausible world in which we play ourselves out of a top QB pick this season and never get as good a chance as we had last year. QB Hell sucks.
  19. I thought the same thing watching his "every throw" video last week. There's definitely something there. He needs to speed up and react to pressure better. His protection sucks but a good QB can play through that.
  20. I'm genuinely worried Jordan Love is going to play the Packers into the tank bowl finals. Watching the Panthers game. They need to lose this for the Bears' sake.
  21. Weekly Jordan love update: still sucks Packers will be looking for a QB for the first time in forever this offseason
  22. I'm not super worried about the stats. What I see from Maye is that he could really stand to clean up his accuracy. It's not terrible, but it's not "elite QB prospect" accuracy either. Even when he's not under pressure he's not throwing those perfect-placement, make-the-receivers-life-easy throws. No college situation mimics the experience of making pro-complexity reads against pro-complexity defenses, but he looked decisive in the reads he was making tonight. He's got plenty of arm for the NFL and a sense of how to tailor throws to the situation. And being 6-4 will really help with seeing the field at the next level. I think he's getting a bit of prospect hipsterism from people who want to have an alternative to Williams, but I wouldn't be at all sad to get him.
