  1. How many of those count for us because our willingness to bid $120m plus the posting fee?
  2. I hope they have to suspend game 7 because neither team has enough healthy players to finish the game.
  3. I dunno. I guess. I hate giving the Kings another shot at us. I hate giving teams we've beaten revenge. Either way, the team that comes out of the West should be a heavy favorite to win the Cup.
  4. Chicago against either.
  5. I hate to say it and I may have to eat these words, but with Boston out, the only team on our level left is Anaheim.
  6. Let's go Heat!
  7. It's OK but you are just setting yourself up for disappointment when we finish a strong second.
  8. At this point we've got a ton of experience beating other teams in the playoffs and soaking up the sweet, sweet hate. Minnesota fans are taking this one about as hard as I've seen lately. The Blues are resigned to their fate as chokers. Last year, we beat three teams with recent Cups and a Minnesota team that was happy to be in the playoffs at all. This year, Minnesota *really* wanted to be taken seriously and resented all the "of course Chicago will win" stuff, and losing when outplaying is just sending them off the deep end. Probably my favorite since beating Philly.
  9. Parks on matters at all relating to MLB rosters is...not good.
  10. Minnesota is taking this one extra hard. I love it.
  11. I hope when he's activated we drop a position player and go with 14 pitchers.
  12. us making the playoffs within those first two seasons was a near-impossibility, and to pretend otherwise proves you're not even attempting to be remotely objective about things Incorrect
  13. In other words, no matter what, even if the Cubs make the playoffs every year after this year, Kyle is going to keep his act up until *at least* 2018. That's the utter brilliance of it all. Yeah. It's so weird that failures get counted along with the successes, even if the failures come first.
  14. Cubs need to get better at tanking Or institute a lottery. We were supposed to pick 5th that year.
  15. I'm pretty glad we didn't take James van Riemymsdkye or however you spell it.
  16. I'll add 10 points to his projected big-league peak slugging. Now I expect him to hit 300/310/320.
  17. The fact that you just went 1-for-5 makes me seriously doubt your ability to go 4-for-5, especially when you could only manage a 67% rate in Boston while inheriting an awesome start. At this point, I'm expecting a total of 3 playoff appearances in Epstein's decade with the Cubs.
  18. I don't care if they go worst-to-first if it takes them four or five years to do it. Congratu-freaking-lations, you're 1-for-5.
  19. Oakland was 3 games better than the Cubs in 2011. With the 28th-ranked farm system.
  20. Epstein and Hoyer were allowed to commit almost $100m to free agents in their second offseason. They weren't as handcuffed as many like to imply. They should have more money to spend, but they've had enough that good decisions could have led to good results.
  21. I don't know. You're the evil trolling genius here, not me.
  22. That's rich. Seriously. People tell Kyle they wish he was dead and don't get banned. I'm terrified of what IMB would say to me if I PM'd him spoilers.
