    People seem to react more to the degree of contact than the type of contact. Shouldering out a guy whom you have body position on looks way worse than lunging in and tripping, but the former is more or less not a foul and the latter definitely is.

    Screw around with his hitting approach and watch him struggle all year? I was more under the impression that they basically told Starlin to be Starlin this season and he's gone back to the player we knew and loved. Yeah, but they're taking credit for it, as if their screwing around caused him to end up roughly where his career trajectory was taking him anyway. "Just like Castro!" is going to be the go-to for any young player having a crappy season forever.

    "fairly common" isn't a word I want attached to our recent No. 6 overall pick. Being not good enough for the majors is fairly common. It's kinda important that out best prospects be fairly uncommon.

    I was under the impression Alcantara probably wasn't going to be an MLB SS most likely even without Castro or Baez.

    I have a feeling he's going to give up like 10 hits and 3 BBs in 6 innings but somehow only 2 runs and we're going to have to see him written into every 2015 projected rotation the fanbase can spit up in the next 8 months.

    Cubs are 1.5 games away from falling out of a protected draft pick for next year, not that I think it will matter either way.
