  1. A *ton* of other teams' fans talking about how the Cubs have "no pitching" in the minors whose teams have fewer top 100 pitching prospects than the Cubs do.
  2. A little concerned and yes, the BABIP should temper the results a little bit. He's been more like an 1.100 OPS guy than a 1.200 OPS guy.
  3. I just don't want the players going after him. Screw the fans.
  4. Javy flies out to the warning track in CF. He needed to swing harder. He used to get those out.
  5. Alcantara with his second walk of the night, plus a single
  6. Yeah, that's the stupid part. It's really hard to avoid going from "well, it might make sense but everyone will be in on him if they even trade him at all so who knows" to it being impossible to post a 2015 projection without someone insisting you include him.
  7. Basically. As far as the bat goes, that comp looks really strong to me as far as being same age at Iowa and doing the same things. Rizzo is strikeoutier but also had a lot less pro experience including no previous stint at AAA.
  8. You know what, screw it, I'll play along. Baez, Soler, Vogelbach and their choice of Pierce Johnson or CJ Edwards for Stanton. Extend him for whatever he wants in perpetuity. 5/$90m for Lester. Whatever Maeda ends up going for, do it. Ruggiano/Alcatara/Stanton Bryant/Castro/Valbuena/Rizzo Castillo Lester/Arrieta/Maeda/Wood/Jackson Add Rivero and Vizcaino to the bullpen Cubs to 2015 NL: http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/_whw4sLCgyY/mqdefault.jpg
  9. Ho-hum. Alcantara BBs to lead off Iowa's game, Baez doubles him in.
  10. Mike Olt doesn't anywhere near Mark Reynolds' hit tool, and when it gets to the point where that is a real sentence maybe it's time to give up on the guy.
  11. There are certain things a baseball fan can say that just immediately disqualify them from being listened to, and "why did they draft/trade for/develop/whatever so many shortstops, what about the other positions?" is one of them.
  12. Tennessee went from boring to awesome in a blink.
  13. There's a big difference.
  14. Seeing other teams' fans start trying to come up with bad trade proposals to "relieve" the Cubs of their excess position prospects for lesser pitching prospects just reminds me how much I don't want to make any trades and screw pitchers forever.
  15. There's not many in existence and also the Cubs have most of them.
  16. Meanwhile, even after Rusin, we've got a 25-man spot open that I haven't seen any indication on?
  17. So ofcourse, you're doing it, right? I've had the blessing of not feeling the need this time. Not even a little. I can barely handle a place like this which has a high concentration of smart fans.
  18. I can't think of anything I'd want to do less than listen to sports radio after a trade like this.
  19. So are the 2015 Cubs. I'm not saying they'll win the division. But unless the front office takes goes from tanking to outright sabotage, they'll be decent and young and exciting.
