I'm OK with it. You don't get super-elite prospects without some real pain in what you give back. And lol still no top-flight pitchers.

Nobody could seriously try to wrap their heads around this this early. It's too big. 1) It's definitely cool as hell 2) I trust our front office not to get completely ripped off 3) We knew these two would probably be traded, it's just crazy to think some team was audacious enough to grab both of them with four weeks to go to the deadline.

Seriously, though, a lot of people had speculated lately that prospects were becoming overvalued and someone should take advantage of that. Of course it's Beane. Not on this board Huh. I can't keep track of what gets discussed where, but I've seen it discussed on several Cubs boards lately. I'm surprised it didn't come up here.

There's been a lot of chatter lately that prospects are becoming overvalued on the trade market (Friedman came out and said it the other day) and hence speculation that a smart GM would start to work trades the other way. Beane strikes me as *exactly* the guy to do it.
