  1. @#$#!$ Nobody in the Springfield TV market wants to see the end of Panthers-Bengals over the beginning of the Bears game. Not one person.
  2. Season over. Nah but it wouldn't be looking great I mean it's already over even if we win today.
  3. Falcons 38, Bears 17. With Marshall and Jeffery having like 1.5 healthy legs between them, this offense isn't as good as we think.
  4. After having one of the worst weeks imaginable last week to just barely lose, I'm on pace to have my best week of the season and barely lose. It's nice to have a mixture.
  5. Dolphins didn't get the memo that Rodgers is just too good.
  6. Well this period is going well.
  7. I honestly didn't think the Hawks played as bad as most people seem to think they did. I thought the first two periods were a solid B against a team that was hyped up (home opener *and* a mid-tier team trying to make a name for itself against an elite). And then when the adrenaline ran out, the Hawks took over.
  8. The Falcons have a horrible, horrible defense. The Bears will score at least 30. They are terrified of the Bears offense. According to DVOA, Atlanta's defense is ranked 28th in the league. Carolina's is ranked 27th and we scored 24 so...I don't think we'll have a problem moving the ball but are we going to shoot ourselves in the foot repeatedly like we have the last 2 weeks? I feel like quality of the defense is almost irrelevant. We're going to do six awesome things and six terrible things against everyone.
  9. This game is going to be a train wreck. Like 45-17 or something. Season ovah.
  10. Oh @#$ me. That needs to happen so bad. Baez + Almora.
  11. Don't be that guy.
  12. Katie was a helluva wall on plays at the plate at the company softball games.
  13. If/when we miss the playoffs next year, what are some likely reasons? Here's what I've come up with so far: 1) Left-handed relief pitching 2) Massive turd seasons from guys who need are too upside-heavy to bench: Baez, Bryant, Alcantara, maybe even Olt. 3) Jake Arrieta's shoulder 4) It's not a better ball tourney, so even if you have like six potentially decent guys for the last two rotation spots, whichever two you are using at any point have a great potential for suckiness. 5) LOL bullpen variance and it turns out we suck again at high-leverage situations, especially early in the year.
  14. Bunting really isn't that bad.
  15. Screw the Bears. Screw the Bulls. Screw the inevitable disappointing offseason for the Cubs followed by an "encouraging" 79-win season. Bring on the Hawks. This is all that matters.
  16. nooooooo lets not go that far No one ever said "I've heard of Ronnie Woo-Woo so obviously he must be an expert"
  17. Arguello is seriously just the worst ever. I'd let Cubs fandom have 10 more Al Yellons and 6 more Ronnie Woo-Woos if it mean he went away.
  18. I never really considered '07 to be an epic choke. Maybe it's because of how bad we were in 2006, but I remember 2007 being a somewhat surprising season where you didn't expect them to make much noise in the playoffs. I was referring to 1969, 1984, 2003 and 2008.
  19. Saad is going to be a total beast this year. I like this team better on paper than last year's.
  20. It was the end of July and we basically [expletive] buried them. In the division, and it was glorious. However, they went on to win the Wild Card and win more playoff games (1) than the Cubs did (0). [expletive] me. I know we all know this, but I was thinking about today about how the four touchstone seasons for Cubs fans are an epic regular-season choke, two epic playoff chokes, and a playoff sweep.
  21. In the last 15 seasons, that's 9 NLCS appearances for the Cardinals. http://i.imgur.com/nv6ZmAt.gif How about this one: The Cubs have finished in fifth place the last five seasons. The Cardinals have not finished below fourth since 1990. And of course we're up to 53 playoff wins and counting since the last time the Cubs won a playoff game. I'm seriously beginning to think maybe we should just throw in the towel on the whole rivalry and aim at someone more realistic.
  22. In the last 15 seasons, that's 9 NLCS appearances for the Cardinals.
  23. This will be even funnier in three years when we get around to making the playoffs and they do it to us.
