  1. The rationalization is starting to kick in and I'm thinking about how we'd still have a chance to be pretty good with a rotation of Arrieta, McCarthy, Anderson, Hendricks, Whomever.
  2. I'd be very happy with a Mccarthy signing As like the fourth biggest move of the offseason? Sure
  3. I'm torn on whether these kids are making stuff up and getting lucky or if they hacked someone's e-mail.
  4. It's just a little airborne. It's still good, it's still good.
  5. Yeah I can't see or understand the Red Sox direction. They are either blocking Betts or Bogaerts which seems weird to me. Probably trading someone. Too many useful players is never something to be avoided.
  6. Yeah. That's the problem it always comes to. People can say whatever they want about Cutler, but the alternatives are never any better.
  7. One of these days sports teams are just going to say "screw it, we have our own web sites and magazines and even our own network, we don't need you."
  8. Not with the same degree of probability. I'd guess similar though. I dont know the stats but id guess you see more TJS surgeries from the under 30 group as well. There is an abundance of of pitchers blowing up in every age group. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=1658
  9. This. His arm absolutely does not look the same.
  10. Fine, screw it. Let's trade a bunch of stuff for two or three awesome position players and just score 1000 runs next year.
  11. Survivor bias. Now go back and look at the list of pitchers that dropped out and simply aren't pitching anymore at that age. '98-Present fWAR leaders through age 30: http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=sta&lg=all&qual=50&type=8&season=2014&month=0&season1=1998&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=17,30&filter=&players=0 Yes, he's been a very good pitcher through age 30. We're attempting to figure out how good he'll be through age 37. --- eta Holy crap, that list makes me think f pitchers over 30 Sabathia - arm dying if not dead Felix - hasn't passed 30 Verlander - arm dying Pedro - arm died @ 34 - 35 Greinke - ok so far, but still young Santana - arm died at 31 Vazquez - arm died at 34 Oswalt - arm died at 34 Halladay - arm died at 34 Buerhle - ok Kershaw - uh, yeah, still only 26! Haren - arm died at 31 Yeah, that list is not a compelling argument to sign Lester. Yeah. I want to not get nothing, but I really wouldn't mind if we just traded for a 28-year-old pitcher instead.
  12. They said during the game today Stafford has never beaten a team on the road that went on to finish the year with a winning record. That seems impossible Well, he's a quarterback and not an entire team, so he's never beaten anyone. But it does seem odd if he'd never been on a team that had done that.
  13. A month from now we'll be ahead of Detroit.
  14. I still want Lovie back.
  15. Season back on, Trestman extension talks begin.
  16. McCown is outCutlering Cutler.
  17. I don't even care, I being on the other side of miss games like this. LovieBall4Life.
  18. McCown just threw it into the rarely seen sextuple coverage.
  19. Neither does he. Nor most of the Bears. Briggs is probably going to try to sneak into the Bucs' locker room, steal a jersey, and just hope no one notices he switched teams.
  20. Briggs just got a career-ending case of "too old for this [expletive], screw it."
  21. That wasn't even some ridiculous catch in coverage. He was open.
  22. A 6-10 or something Bucs winning the division would be some serious karmic justice for Lovie.
  23. yep has been the case a lot this year too I kinda hope it's just bad mechanics from his "I don't give a flip" mode, and not his body breaking down after years of hits.
