yeah, that was a weird question. florida too, obviously. just look at how easily cubs fans can get into road playoff games usually too. atlanta couldn't sell out damn playoff games. You guys are flat out nuts if you don't think all of those markets don't have terrible, obsessive sports media out the wazoo. Atlanta's got three miserable sports radio stations just like the Vaunted Chicago Sports Market. Florida has three dozen(!!!!) sports stations. California has twenty seven. Illinois? Only a whopping fifteen, less than the twenty that can be found here in Virginia. Hello from Orange County, California. We've got 3 million people. We've got two sports radio stations, but they rarely run local content. It's almost always national syndicated stuff until it's time for an Angels or Ducks, and then they get a pre-game show of one or two hours. It's all generic PR stuff. The teams sell enough tickets and do enough TV ratings to keep the lights on, but it's not something the whole area gets caught up in. If there's some frothing racist Kaplan equivalent waiting for Otani to fall apart, I haven't run across them.
