  1. Most of them. Behind the linebackers or exploiting a linebacker trying to cover laterally across a long distance.
  2. OK that was a good drive. *jumps back on Mitchy T bandwagon*
  3. That Akiem Hicks sack was a textbook example for everyone who does the dumb "How can you possibly sack a QB without driving your weight into him" takes.
  4. This looks like it could easily be the game where the narrative, from both the fan base and the national media, begins to transition from "interesting young team, might be good some day" to "this is a championship defense accompanied by a lot of offensive weapons."
  5. He *didn't* miss the wide open receiver 40 yards downfield. It's a good start.
  6. For the 800th time, 94 or 95 wins is not blowing the division. Especially when it’s due in large part to one player on a different team going Barry Bonds mode. We survived Carpenter going Bonds mode, and we may survive Yelich as well. Not to mention the injuries. Nobody is blowing anything. 800 times or 900, having a lead this late and then not having a lead is blowing it.
  7. Today we find out if the defense is super-duper-elite or just sort of pedestrian elite.
  8. I’m not saying it’s smart I’m just saying mentally I don’t wanna have to think about it I'm at the point where I weirdly just want the hole season to be over. Call it a wash and come back next year after a non-sham of an off season and pray horsefeathers doesn't go wonky again. The chant builds slowly. First just a lone, unidentifiable voice deep in the crowd. A few more pick it up. Momentum builds. Soon, the thunderous clamor fills the world: re-build. Re-build. Re-Build!
  9. Just lose tomorrow and Tuesday so we can be fresh for next season.
  10. There would be something particularly poetic about being passed by the Brewers for the first time on the last day.
  11. Tiebreaker Madness is dead :( Guess we might as well just destroy the Cardinals then.
  12. I am too lazy to figure out what needs to happen, but I really want the Cardinals eliminated on the field in the next two days and not with some west coast score.
  13. Red zone scoring is very much a skill.
  14. Everything still looking good for tiebreaker madness. Need to lose 2 out of 3, Rockies get swept, Dodgers go 1-2, Brewers go 2-1. If the Cubs screw that up by winning too much, they damn well better win a pennant to make it up to me.
  15. Vaunted Vikings have one win through four weeks.
  16. We could be facing Mike Maroth and I'd still be worried about the offense I bet we could tag a couple on Marc Meron though. tfw Albert Almora:
  17. I blame you. spoilered for language
  18. Cubs win today, go 1-2 versus Cardinals. Brewers go 2-1 versus Tigers. Rockies lose today, finish 1-2 Dodgers finish 1-2 Cubs and Brewers play tiebreak for the NL central, loser is WC1 Dodgers and Rockies play tiebreak for NL West, loser has to play Cardinals in tiebreak for WC2 This is the only way I want this season to end. This is what I'm rooting for from here on out.
  19. See, I think this is ultimately our and Theo's problem. Our rival is the frackin' Milwaukee Brewers. No matter whether you beat them or not, no matter whether they win 85 games or 95, it's still just embarrassing to be fighting over the division with the Milwaukee Brewers. He needs a Yankees-level foil to work off of.
  20. First time in franchise history with four straight playoff appearances. Eat horsefeathers, Mordecai Brown and the 1906-1908 Cubs.
  21. Obviously we are all rooting for a Cubs/Brewers tie and a Dodgers/Rockies/Cardinals tie. Two divisional tiebreakers, one of which sends the loser to a WC2 tiebreaker to get into the WC game.
  22. Theory: most starters like to start a game with a strike. There is a high likely hood the first pitch of the game will be a FB Now heres the kicker: Almora happens yo be offensively good at one thing: hitting fastballs Proposition: tell Almora to swing at the first pitch he sees Result: 4-3 groundout
  23. Essentially, I don't think this is a result of mis-management because this is what we've always been built around. A big tank followed by a finite run. That we've already got four years out of the run with a chance to grab a couple more is pretty good. Sustained success was never real.
