  1. Many of my friends and acquaintances are White Sox and Cardinals fans. As long as it doesn't come at the expense of the Cubs, I enjoy the success of both teams.
  2. I'm less worried about the offense we get from CF than the defense. Right now, our CF defense is the only glaring weakness in the D, and that's a big one.
  3. 64.8% isn't exactly "amost 3/4" in my book. But agreed, there's a ton of baseball to be played.
  4. May 19 to June 2, 2001 when they won 12 straight. Jeez, that was a long long time ago.... I remember it like it was yesterday. Sosa hit a deep fly to the corner in right in Milwaukee that might have made it 13, but it was caught jumping at the wall.
  5. Has nothing to do with him being a Cardinal. Sosa was a cheater, too, and I don't have a problem saying it.
  6. i guess you missed it... greinke got good again. Perhaps, but good over 2 months isn't worth whatever prospects we have left If we're lucky, some of those prospects might turn into a 24-year-old, 120+ ERA starting pitcher
  7. That's relevant. it's about rick ankiel, and maybe he doesn't make that catch without a little help. i stand by my link. You mean the HGH that he ordered 4 years ago? Makes sense  I'm sure the confessed cheater isn't cheating anymore. Totally trustworthy.q
  8. You'd think something like that would get mentioned once in awhile.
  9. We're pretty far past the point in the season where current record has some decent predictive value.
  10. Weak pop. Cards "only" 2.5 back of us still.
  11. Mientkievicz thought he walked on 3-1, but it was probably a strike.
  12. Both. The Cubs, and maybe the Cardinals, are the only really good teams in the NL. Probably just the Cubs.
  13. Ballgame. Edmonds almost dropped it. Cubs on pace for 102 wins. Four games clear of the playoffs.
  14. Let's move Woodie back to the rotation. He looks awesome.
  15. Okay, my first of the year: The umpire flat-out blew that pitch, calling it a ball.
  16. Fuld had a hitless streak in AA that went the same amount of time as Pie's. Fuld's managed to climb out of the hole, whereas Pie still has a ways to go. Fuld at AA .122 .143 .146 going into today Pie at AAA .125 .208 .229 going into today
  17. As disappointed as I am with how the Cubs have handled Pie, I'm really glad they were bluffing with Fuld.
  18. 11 ks for Cubs pitchers today. I miss leading the league and setting new records every year :(
  19. Two-run leads are nice, but I don't feel as good about them without Marmol available.
  20. It's not so bad when you know it's coming, though. That's why all the losing as a Cubs fan the past couple of bad seasons didn't bother me that much. I hate Baseball Prospectus for convincing me we were big favorites against the Diamondbacks. And Devin Hester for giving the Bears an early lead against Indianapolis.
