Good news: Given that we have a bad pitching matchup tomorrow and then two road games, this probably won't end at Wrigley like the last three times. Those are doubly sad.

Always remember: You root for the Cubs. that is not different than being a fan of any other team as far as this season So you don't think there is any added pressure when you play for the Cubs? You don't think the fact that the crowd is booing 5 innings into game 1 of the playoffs after a 97 win season makes anything different? I'm guessing just about any fans in baseball would be booing their team under the same circumstances. Completely disagree. If Mike Lowell strikes out to leadoff an inning of game 1 at Fenway when they're down 2 in the 6th, do they boo? 2 WS in four years vs. being on a six-playoff-game losing streak. So while not every other fans in baseball would boo, these fans are certainly warranted in letting off a little steam.
That grand slam literally did more to decrease the odds of the Cubs going to or winning the World Series than anything that has happened all season. Negativity is warranted.
So then either use your ignore feature liberally or don't read the game thread. Or how about you contribute something positive once in a while instead of constantly bitching. Do you enjoy being miserable?yea, you don't have the right to ruin the thread for the rest of us. your negativity is sooo ridiculous Ignore. Button. If the thread is ruined, you do it to yourself.
Is that the country that can't decide if it's Dutch or Flemish, and is having a big stink about parking cameras? That's all cool, but no baseball is weak
"Why is that relevant?" Because the level of annoyingness in a fan argument (which in and of itself is annoying) is very much in the eye of the beholder.
Elcaballo - Though the end of your season reminded me a lot of the 1998 Cubs, I hope your first playoff experience ends a little better than mine did. Or my third. And I wouldn't wish my second on anyone not named Bin Laden.
In a series where 3 games are on the road and 2 are at home does this really matter all that much? It takes one semi-lucky game by the pitchers to completely offset any home field advantage. It matters to the individual pitchers. Lowe will not be pitching in Dodger Stadium, and outside Dodger Stadium he's a full two runs worse per 9 innings. That's a significant difference.
