  1. Shota's last seven starts have been excellent.
  2. Sanders in July: IP-17.2, ER5, H15, BB6, K17, ERA: 2.61
  3. It seems like a ramp up to 6-innings-; 2-4-6. If his success continues in Tennesee, I'm thinking he'll end the year in Iowa. He's not too young, he'll be 24 in October.
  4. They're back! Should have a Wiggins sighting in the next couple days.
  5. It's very easy when looking at his skill set- the Cubs think of him as a 5-tool CF. He may have been the first, or 2nd after Arquette, college position player picked if he didn't hurt his shoulder.
  6. I think Callis is giving Conrad the benefit of the doubt with his health. "If healthy", Conrad was looking like a top-10 pick. I would have a healthy Conrad at #3.
  7. The Cubs have some young pitching talent they can trade. But, if another team will give up a Horton type pitching prospect (not too many of those), then they get to make the trade.
  8. That's good, but the FB isn't the same. I can the Cubs thinking they can get his FB up (he's very projectable and the Cubs have had success increasing velocity), but as of today they have different FBs.
  9. Like Reid physically- 6'3, 201 lbs and athletic. Very projectable... Also like this from MLB: "Reid does a nice job of moving his running fastball around the strike zone, working at 91-94 mph and reaching 96 with the ability to get carry at the letters or sink at the knees. He throws his best pitch, an 82-84 mph changeup with fade and sink, nearly as much as his heater and will double and triple up on it, even against right-handers. He led all NCAA Division I pitchers with 66 strikeouts via the cambo."
  10. Where do you guys have Conrad on your list? As of now I have him #5 (with all due respect to Alcantara & Triantos)... On August 1st, he could be #1.
  11. Yep- two starting pitchers, a 3B and a high leverage reliever. I've prepared myself for a gutted farm system on August 1st.
  12. Something I noticed about the schedule is the Cubs are basically home until August 8th. They have the four day All-Star break, six games at Wrigley, then six "on the road" against the White Sox and Brewers and finish with six more at Wrigley. That's a nice strech with almost no travel.
  13. In his last ten games he's had 15BB in 13.2 innings.
  14. Blah... Gallagher comes out for the 7th and gives up a 2R HR.
  15. Yeah, he improved his power last year, but didn't build on that this year. I think he has the physical tools to develop power as he matures.
  16. Dang, Little has lost his control this season. I think he has more walks than innings- 🥹 Gallagher 1-hitter through 6- nice... He scuffled a bit the past few games. Good to see him do well before the break.
  17. If they know they're trading Cassie, Summerhill would be an ideal pick. LaViolette would work, too.
