  1. What's hilarioudly dumb is the spinning I'm getting when asking how the Nat's did after losing Harper. I've made no Cub comparison to the 2019 Nats other than I'll tak=ke the Cubs 1B/SS combo over the 2019 Nats. You're butt hurt and got your panties in a wad over me asking how the Nats did without Harper. Then deflected by compairing the 2019 Nats to the 2025 Cubs. I had nothing to do with the comparison. The Rendon reference is for awful he's been since signing a big FA cotract. If that reference goes over your head in regards to signing a FA to $600M contract, that's your problem.
  2. Nope and Nope. Looked, Turner's WAR was 4 in 2019. Sames as Swanson's in 2024. No $300M players on 2019 Nats. For Rendon, he's been junk since 2019. How do ya think the Angels are liking that big contract they gave him? So, again, how'd the Nat's do after losing Harper?
  3. Not the same math as $330M to $600M in five years. The same math goes $600M to around 1.1B- BILLION!!! I don't know what MLB's earning projections are, but I don't see that.
  4. Yeah, I know the team, my buddy is a Nat fan. They also had three excellent starting pitchers. Zimmerman was toast by 2019. Him and some other guy were the 1B and it was a weak spot. Turner was good, not great. Sometthing like 3.5-4.5 WAR... I would 100% take Busch and Swanson at 1B/SS in 2025 over what the 2019 Nat's had in 2019. Catching up to Rendon and Soto will be the task. So, again, how'd the Nat's do after losing their $330M player?
  5. How'd Washington do without Harper? Comparing a $330 five year old contract to a $600M + contract tody isn't the same. The Cubs have many paths to success without Soto.
  6. No I'm not. I'm estimating one of them will likely push Tauchman down the depth chart some more by mid-season like PCA already did in 2024. Even without a young OF stepping up, the Cubs look to improve the depth of the team. Taking more PT and ABs from Tachman. It's going to be difficult for him to get 200 PAs next year with the Cubs.
  7. Silly.
  8. Thanks, I couldn't look it up. I got now with BRs splits. Strating from 8/16, I believe Tachman got 4 starts in the OF. He had around 60 ABs in August/September and 290 ABs from March through July. So, his ABs acutaully went down more after Suzuki became the full time DH. It's still the PCA affect. Tachman's role is deminished with the arrival of PCA. It's only going to get worse as the other prospects work their way to Chicago.
  9. After PCA took over CF, who played more RF- Tauchman or Suzuki?
  10. That was pre PCA thinking. When Tauchman was the 4th OF and esientailly back up 1B (Belli moves from CF to play 1st, Tachman played CF), he played a lot. When PCA took over CF, Tauchman became the 5th OF. A lot less at bats. More young OF's are on the way, too. Still like Tauchman, though. He a plus role player.
  11. Yeah, that's what passing on $600M contract means... yeah
  12. How so? I have zero problems with the Cubs passing on a $600M contract.
  13. With Cody’s opt in, I’m looking for pitching in FA. Obviously a catcher will be added either by trade or FA, then go in-house with the offense. A few Guys are banging at the door, it’ll be interesting. Then, if needed, make a trade during the season. For FA pitching, they have to go top shelf. I’m not big on bellyaching about the Cubs lack of spending. I’ve been there, but it’s dull and tedious . With that said, the Cubs going cheap on the bullpen last year hurt, it was BS! This year, go big or do nothing and stay in-house. My top SP/RP combo is Corbin Burns and Tanner Scott. Burns is a perfect fit reuniting with Counsell and forming a top-3 rotation with left handers Steele/Imanaga. Tailon would slot in as a high end 4th SP, then let the young guys figure out the 5th spot and depth. Could even consolidate the young guys and trade for another quality SP. Would give the Cubs a heck of 1-5 staff. Tanner Scott is my top choice for RP. I think he’s a perfect compliment to Hodge as a 8th/9th inning duo. After that, I guess some combo of Miller/Pearson/Thompson are the projected 6th/7th inning guys. Need to add a guy to that group. Trade or FA, either way.
  14. What's a good projection for Burns- 6yr $210M?!? I'd do that.
  15. I'm not gonna bash the Cubs for not signing him to $600M+ contract... I sure wouldn't do it if it was my money. Going by Bowden's projections. I'd sign a top RP, conolidate young SPs and prospects and trade for SP and sign a SP. For offense, If Bellinger doesn't opt out, Get a catcher (trade or FA signing). And, go with in-house farm system options for other improvements. Then look for trade oprotunities in season... If he does opt out and isn't resigned, I'm not quite sure. Something like adding Pederson, IDK yet.

  17. It kinda relative. Hitting against some freshman who'll never play pro ball is a lot easier than A ball, especially A+ (MB). For level of play, he graduated HS in 2022. A/A+ ball is a fair spot. Ending the season in AA is definately a plus for him.
  18. I have, 2nd rounder, Mathis in the top 15. No one else close to the top 20.
  19. Odd. We do know that his injury is to his knee. Nothing to do with his arm or shoulder- right?
  20. Do we have an update on Brody McCullough?
  21. Looking likely... Monday is a bullpen game for Chicago, would be a perfect time for Killian to get the call. While we're at it, with Happ's back issue, perfect time to plug in Cassie. Might as well call up Shaw, too. I know some 40-man issues would need to be resolved, but so what.
  22. Iowa with a true bullpen game. 9 pitchers over 11 innings:
  23. @CaliforniaRaisin TY! Really appreciate your efforts here.
  24. Good question. First, great to see Birdsell end the season on a great game. He deserved that. As it now stands, he's a dark horse contender for the 5th spot. The Cubs have a clear top 4 in place: Imanaga Steele Tailon Assad Then Wicks and Brown are the top candidates for the 5th spot with Birdsell and Wesneski also in contention. Birsell doesn't have the MLB experience the others do, but has all the tools to be the 5th starter. The best thing he has going for him is he's already established the rare ability as a 6/7 inning guy in the minors. which is big.
