  1. Birdsell's last three games: 18IP, 10H, 0ER, 3BB, 23K.
  2. Gray with the W! It's crazy, but this is Gray's first win as a Cub. Been in the system since 2021.
  3. How about that. I posted about Shaw too- Tiger beat me to it.
  4. On Smith, it's difficult to rank him in the Cubs system. He's gonna finish in A ball, and with all the top guys in AAA, they get credit for that. But, if there was an expansion draft, and the Cubs could only protect three prospects. I'm gonna protect Smith with one of the three spots.
  5. Excellent. The best stat, to me, is the 1 BB. If he's able to build on that next year, He'll be an excellent prospect. And, he might actually get a win tonight!
  6. Nice to Caissie didn't need a Sept. call up to crush MLB pitching. No Kilian; I wonder if they're thinking about brining him up?!? Mr. Riley Thompson pitched. He's been in the system for a while now. When was the last time he was considered a prospect- 2021?
  7. It actually ties the 2nd highest score of the last 6 games. Edit: equal and ties is the same thing- oops
  8. I wish there was a Tony Soprano curb stomp GIF- 😁
  9. Amazing., The Cubs offense is on a historic 10 game run. Like, a lot of unprecedented stuff.
  10. In Japan don't starters go once a week or something like that? So getting Imanaga an extra day when they can makes sence.
  11. Certainly not the move I expected. I was low key thinking Mastrobuoni could be a DFA candidate to open up a 40-man spot. Oh well. And, yeah, I forgot all about Madrigal, too. That was an easy move.
  12. Nice work by Wicks. Tough 2nd, then three pretty clean innings. Guessing he's done for the day, evnthough he's only at 69 pitches. That's the most he's pitched since the injury and the top of Nationls lineup begins the 6th. It's would also be the 3rd time through for Nationals.
  13. Crazy... It's like he thinks he's an All Star or something.
  14. Paredes wth the glove and bat! He's having a week. Note to self: Do not make judgements after 10 games.
  15. I'm guessing Wicks and Caissie. That would require two 40-man roster moves, so maybe not. Wicks is coming sometime very soon and Caissie has to be rostered this winter, so the roster moves are inevitable. The Cubs just might not want to make two moves on Sunday.
  16. This would be a good thread (Cubs 2025 pitching staff). Really like the pitching depth going into next season. Maybe up to ten starting pitching candidates and about as many bullpen options. Heck, the 2015-18 Cubs didn't have close to this type of depth. The 5th starter was usually rough. Hammel was good in 16, but 17 & 18 were tough until the Quintana and Hammel mid season trades. 2025 will have much better depth than those teams.
  17. Wicks will be up today or early September regardless, so the roster spot move is coming. Wingenter would be an easy DFA for me. I don't think Roberts would be a 60-day DL candidate. Something could be done with Nido, too. Update: I forgot about Hollowell; so yeah, the 40-man roster isn't an issue.
  18. This. He comes in has a good September and takes Hendricks spot going into 2025.
  19. I was posting about this in the minor league forum. It should be Imanga or Assad going. Roberts looks to be going on the DL, so that's the spot for Wicks. Why would they jump Imanaga? Maybe to get past the weather?!?
  20. Cool. It should be Imanga or Assad going. Hopefully no injury. Roberts looks to be going on the DL, so Wicks could take his spot. I'll check out the GD thread.
