  1. Iowa wins. Cassies/Long with 2-hits.
  2. Soroka's fastball was popping. Hit 96.6mph.
  3. Who goes down for Soroka- Hodge/Brown/ Assad? I'm gonna guess Brown. Let him get a couple starts in Iowa to end the season.
  4. Gets his 3rd K and is out after 2.1 inning. If he's in the pen they can bring him up.
  5. That and the 96.6mph fastball. He's pitching the 7th.
  6. 1st batter in the 6th hits a HR- 🙃 Two outs now. 4-seamer just hit 96.6MPH. Three outs. We'll see if he pitches the 7th.
  7. Soroka in the 5th inning. Clean inning with 2Ks. 4-seamer hitting 95mph+.
  8. Soroka is supposed to pitch today for Iowa. Hopefully it goes well. A healthy Soroka would be big for the Cubs.
  9. Don't know... Like I posted, trades and free agency could change the rotation dynamic.
  10. It's less than 90 inngings, but it's his innings plus ACR training and the Horton comp-(38 innings/24 and 139 innings/25).
  11. Good info. If Wiggins can get some MLB time this year that would be excellent.
  12. I just posted about Wiggins' ACR routine and the Horton comp, so load management doesn't seem like a big issue next year for Wiggins. Still a lot of balls are in the air for next year's starting rotation with trades and free agency. So we're a long way before we really know Wiggins' situation. What I'm stating is what we know now (pre trades and free agency), Wiggins has a path if he finishes this year strong, healthy and shows he’s ready in the spring.
  13. With the way they’ve worked Wiggins’ workload with ACR, he’s primed for more innings next year. Then there’s the Horton comp, who’s the same age as Wiggins (I think Horton is 6-weeks older). There’s a different process now rather than just innings pitched. He pitched 38 innings in 2024 and is at 139 innings this year. Although, I wish Horton had some type of mini shutdown this year.
  14. Rea/Brown/Assad.
  15. Your info is a bunch of gibberish. Brett Taylor and Tommy Birch discussed Ballesteros’s weight loss when spring started. If I remember correctly, Birch said Ballesteros gave up fast food and soda to lose 20lbs. It wasn’t a photo, it was a screen grab of him running. It’s just the way he looks. Kirk was the starting catcher for Toronto in April 2021 when he was 22. He got hurt at the end of April or the start of May and missed almost three months. Then came back to catch about half the games in August and September… I’ll put up a tombstone for ya on that hill. How isn’t he photogenic? The screen grab shows exactly what he looks like. It’s not my fault or problem he gained back his weight.
  16. Yes you did, but it wasn’t like Counsell made some declaration about bringing up Wiggins. Counsell was asked a question about bringing up Wiggins and said we’ll see. He noted that he has to finish strong in AAA then we’ll see if it’s right and if there’s enough time to look at him this year… To me it just seemed like he answered a question with standard manager speak.
  17. Unless the Cubs want to delay his major league clock, he’ll likely start 2026 with the Cubs if he finishes strong in his next two starts for Iowa and he’s one of the Cubs best starting pitchers next spring.
  18. Good AAA beginning for Wiggins. Hopefully he builds on that in his next two starts and heads to the offseason on path to make the Cubs out of spring.
  19. The issue isn’t if he’s bigger than last year. He’s bigger than he was in spring. It was encouraging that he was losing weight and now it’s concerning that he's gaining weight. LIS, he’s shown he’s not a MLB catcher at his current weight and his weight issues limit his prospect status. If we want to talk age and bring up pictures of Kirk. Kirk was a MLB catcher at 21 and is good defensive catcher. Ballesteros isn’t a MLB catcher at 21 and doesn’t project to be a good defensive catcher in the future.
  20. I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t say he was fast.
  21. So it wasn’t all load management. There was some shoulder discomfort as Joe Trezza previously reported- OK. With two weeks left in the AAA season we’re looking at two more starts for Wiggins. If he does well, like he did yesterday, he’d be in a decent position to make the Cubs out of spring. Comparing him to Horton, he was hurt and a mess in AAA in 2024. This spring he had to show he was healthy and then ready for the majors in AAA. It would be nice if Wiggins could skip starting out in AAA next year.

  23. That's right, he wasn't even considered an option at catcher. When the Cubs did need a catcher they ignored Ballesteros. If Ballesteros can't catch in the majors his prospect status is limited. The picture shows his continued issues with physical fitness. Which is an issue for his prospects as a MLB catcher.
  24. That's why I said Vogelbach "path". Did you not see that? I saw him in spring, he was smaller then he is now. Not a good trend.
