  1. man, how would you like to be there watching BP? more pix/video plz
  2. it seems the stiif high profile ones make my large melon look even larger. i was going to make a joke about pants here, but thought better of it. :)
  3. i was hoping to see him in the booth with morgan every week. now that would be comedy
  4. Noah existed. The ref has to handle the ball first, so no matter who's holding it there's no reason for Noah to flip out and try to get it back. Then there's the matter of it being the opposing coach with the ball, which anyone with a modicum of common sense knows you don't instigate anything with during the game. PS- I thought I already made this post, but apparently I didn't. So if you see something similar in a Soriano thread or something, there you go. this was after a made basket, right? i didnt realize the refs handle every basketball before the inbound in this situation. i just thought the other team grabbed it and went. which makes me think the coach was being an ass, not noah this time. its delaying the inbound pass, and slowing the game.
  5. I don't believe so. I think you can spread out the payments over 3 or 4 months, and maybe more. But it's pretty much an all or nothing service. You can sign up later in the season, but it won't be half the cost or anything. I've never tried to do it, but if you got the package on the installment plan, and then canceled halfway through, wouldn't that essentially be the same thing? I don't know why anyone would do this though, unless they discovered they just didn't like it. we've got cable now and are moving in may, so i'm just weighing my options. i could see cancelling if your team dives and your fantasy team falls apart. like last year. mlb.tv may be the best answer.
  6. can you get EI at a monthly rate?
  7. i know i've seen the discussion on woody's control and ERA in the first inning, but i cant remember what the stats were. it always seemed his bad outings started badly, and that he often improved after a rough first inning. i'm sure his approach will be different as a reliever so stats as a starter may not tell the whole story.
  8. well, soriano isnt exactly a prototypical leadoff guy, so i'm hoping lou isnt afraid to be creative and come up with something that works.
  9. i'm pretty sure i wasnt this confident going into last year. but i'm not positive. i can be pretty irrational, i may have been thinking prior and wood are going to pitch a whole year, pitchers are going to be worried about pierre on first, lee is going to mash again. i think what i'm feeling this year is a something different, and is in more touch with reality.
  10. uggh. no mention of murton there.
  11. I think you can. I just signed into it on two different browsers. It's allowing me to watch two different games at the same time. However, I don't know how it will respond with 2 different IP addresses trying to use the product at one time. You and your brother might want to give it a try by signing up for a month. There is no contract so if it doesn't work you can always cancel without a penalty. what speeds are they recommending for each? i believe theres sites that will tell you how fast your connection is, if my connection is good enough i may have to give it a shot. edit: looks like they've got links to a meter and requirements on the main page.
  12. Looks like it's the new Sun-Times beat writer for the Cubs, Gordon Wittenmyer. last year he covered the twins. on xm homeplate the other day he pretty much said he doesnt know anything about the cubs
  13. from what i've heard i could tolerate rome, but all the callers with the prepared sound bytes are pretty awful. and its such a big part of the show. that and the silence. /ducks
  14. yeah, that should be a T on the coach. what did the cheerleader do, though?
  15. i guess vandys court has the coaches in the endzone. during the pregame, phelps was saying the coaches might as well leave and get something to eat as its tough to coach games with that setup.
  16. Yeah, I heard about that, but I don't know who did it. From what I can tell, it was a really bad situation. Some Vanderbilt student shoved Corey Brewer from behind. Good of Brewer to not retaliate. I didn't see the game so I don't know what happened. However, the local sports coverage had been talking about a lot of trash talking taking place between the two teams. In fact, the media seemed to be fueling it with a bunch of interviews with players on both teams talking trash. I believe Vandy is unbeaten in their building against #1 ranked teams. Joakim Noah and Vandy's coach were ready to throw down earlier - it was a very strange situation. Vandy is 6-6 against #1 all time. all i saw was the coach not giving him the ball. was there more to it than that? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ks6LKwhkZNQ that noah guy seems like a real ass.
  17. And I don't see Soriano hitting anywhere other than leadoff. There is little chance that Soriano WON'T be hitting leadoff, we all know that. I just wonder where he would make the most impact - leading off or hitting 5th. Either place, he will be productive - but what is best for the team? Jones isn't a 5 hitter, Floyd is (when healthy - and what are the chances?). I'm just throwing it out there. What do you think the most effective lineup would be - that one or this one: RF Soriano 2B DeRosa/Theriot 1B Lee 3B Ramirez CF Jones CA Barrett LF Murton SS Izturis i like murton/jones/barrett for 5-7. then you dont have to move anyone else when floyd starts, put murts OBP in front of jones SLG.
  18. Haha that's exactly what went through my head. "Wood out 5-10 days after a nest of bees attack throwing arm". was anyone else looking for potential hazards out there? when kerry's running away from the bees i fully expected him to run into someone's backswing. was it just me? also, the bucket of balls is way to close to first base for PFP. and all hot tubs should now be covered in nerf. cant be too careful.
  19. Might want to check your math there, that's only a 43 point win. Not that a 43 point win is anything to scoff at. I mis-typed the score. 92-39. 53 point win. Ah. Guess I could have looked it up on ESPN. :D 53? i hope he subbed early. that kind of win could get some bad blood going.
  20. we'd all look fat standing next to the new kerry. i'm more worried about the horrible jumps someone was getting in the OF practice.
  21. AWESOME AWESOME AWEOME!!!!!!!
  22. well, thats good news. keep itzy on the bench until tejada gets here!
  23. iirc they've both played ss a few times as pros, but maybe as late-game subs for all we know. i just want some evidence that they're adequate defensively. lining up the bench is much easier if they can, and theriot learns CF. then we can have less cedeno and pagan on the bench and more guys with pop.
  24. just saw on espn that carlwell, who had the more serious injury, should be ready for the B10 tourney, but jamar smith is done for the year? jamar must've done something very bad. it seems everyone is pretty tight-lipped about this. what a crap season.
  25. are we ready for derosa to play 20 games or so at ss?
