  1. Greene is always hurt. He makes incredible defensive plays when he's in there, but his defense isn't nearly as impressive when he is out with an injury. Come on, I bet he's NEVER made an error when he's out with an injury. Then he and Isturis would be an even swap on that point. i always thought greene was just a younger itzuris. but he's got quite a bit more offense (career ops .755 vs .635) mostly due to slugging, and is only about a year and a half younger. if inuries are a concern may not be worth alot in a trade, though definitely a potential upgrade.
  2. was i imagining things or was wright state playing on their home floor? if so, well that sucks for butler and maybe illinois.
  3. guys are discussing giving IBB's in spring training. i have no idea why anyone would consider doing that. 2-2 to lee
  4. i think wood would be a great closer. if the cubs agree, i could see where they could save money by limiting his save opportunities. give dempster a chance to lose the job first. that way he gets a similar reliever type contract and may not be able to demand top closer money next year. if wood is closer by early may and gets close to 25 saves he could ask for a lot more than if he is just a dominant set-up man. plus, i think he gets a bonus for games finished this year, so this sort of move by the cubs would be even more transparent.
  5. wait, what happened to the 2 cubs walks?
  6. uh oh. is he on a pitch count? i cant imagine lou lets him throw another 25 pitches on his first outing.
  7. doubt the mariner broadcast team would care to note his velo?
  8. Good luck with that. :( i think i read somewhere that you could cancel in 10 days for a refund. however, good luck at getting ahold of someone to do that for you.
  9. haha, they've changed the mlb homepage to "prior and wood are back, listen now. meanwhile on MLB.TV...."
  10. http://cubs.mlb.com/mediacenter/index.jsp#20070305 why thank you. nice, if true. yesterday there was no evidence of video coverage on that schedule.
  11. my memory is not so good now so i cant give specific examples, but i've always remember as these tourneys being not much of a factor. and maybe for good reason-they've played a whole season, whats 1 week got to do with it. lately there seems to be more parity and many teams in the 15-35 spots that are all close, so maybe these tourneys will carry more weight than in the past.
  12. PBP would be apprediated, as listening to audio is not an option at work. video would've been ok, though. :x
  13. um, i dont quite think #3 is too accurate. they're looking at our middle infielder's career years, for one. this is a top 10 lineup, though.
  14. i always thought the conference tourney had little to do with seeding. the title games are usually still being played while they're working on the brackets.
  15. you're not. i'd be worried if Z came out and said "I'm just going to try to do my best" i'm hoping z can give us something near what he did last year. if he had been average last year, we would've had close to 105 losses.
  16. they've got some loyal fans. i guess at least opening day sells out, from what i hear. not a bad place to watch a game. i feel sorry for their fans now.
  17. i cant remember an illinois team i liked less than this one.
  18. i hate rich mcbride. just realized UI-Iowa is on here. i havent seen him hit a 3 but i've seen at least 3 bricks, early in the shot clock, from 5 ft past the line. 49 all
  19. thanks for the early lineup, bruce. any reports on velocity would be appreciated.
  20. it'd be fun to watch, but this team doesnt need any distractions. its the sox turn to fall apart this year.
  21. The team is holding him out for a few days as a precautionary measure-I believe I read that Floyd thinks that he's ready to go, but the team wants to be absolutely sure. uh oh, next thing you know he'll be seen doing towel drills!
